PJ working out for Hornets June 4th

If we keep the 9 pick I think he would be the safest bet on who will pan out in the league. I think he's learned his lesson and we have the group of guys that can keep him from falling into questionable activities. Coach Clifford has said before that we have the type of locker room where he would feel comfortable bringing in someone with a questionable character. The only real question is PJ Worth the risk?

PJ's stock is rising and I'm starting to see multiple mocks now where PJ goes at #9. Even if a team snatches him up in the late teens I could see us making a trade for him, we want him bad. And TBH, if the team believes he is their guy I don't care where we draft him. if PJ never got in trouble and was able to play another year at UNC he probably would be been a top 7 talent.

Not a lot of difference in the 9th best guy, and the 19th best guy in this draft IMO.

After the elite tier (Embiid, Parker, Wiggins, Exum, maybe Randle), and the second tier (Randle, Gordon, Vonleh), the third tier guys all mesh together and I'd include PJ in that one with guys like Stauskas, McDermott, Saric, etc.

If PJ is the guy at 9, so be it. May seem like a reach to some, but his potential and NBA-readiness compared to some other guys makes him a potentially great pick. Of course, if it all works out.

Agreed, you take your guy at 9. Big drop off after the first four/five guys in this draft.

I don't think we end up with PJ.

He's not good enough to warrant the 9th pick IMO, but good enough that he probably won't be there at 24.

I hope I'm wrong.

You seen who is projected around 9-13? PJ is easily on their level both skill wise and athletically.

    • I have tried to like this team, lord knows I have tried. BY9 is a nice young man, if I had a daughter he can take her to prom, but he ain't QB1 and he's not Cam or Delhomme Chuba is a average RB, he isn't Stephen Davis, he isn't J-Stew McMillan has the makings of a good WR, but he isn't 89/Moose D. Brown is a great player, but if the game was on the line I want Kris Jenkins       I miss this brand of football, even in the bad Jake games the games were entertaining It has been nearly 8 years now of watching numb football
    • I'm not so sure. Something about the whole Frank/Bryce situation seemed off from day 1. Bryce didn't fit Frank's QB mold as well as Stroud, then he basically gives up when Bryce is named starter in preseason but gets virtually no reps in games. Then he looks completely unprepared and Dalton steps in in Seattle, has a decent game under immense pressure, and it's right back to Bryce. All his mechanics are terrible and he's having the worst rookie season ever and Frank doesn't bench him?  You dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know Bryce wasn't ready to be a day 1 starter. Everything with Bryce, then coaches, and the FO seemed forced.
