Greg Hardy Misses OTAs after Undergoing 'Maintenance' Surgery

This hasn't been the smoothest offseason for Carolina Panthers Pro Bowl defensive end Greg Hardy.

Finally back on the field three weeks ago following a misdemeanor assault charge, Hardy is now back on the sideline.

Coach Ron Rivera revealed Wednesday, via the team's official Twitter feed, that his top pass rusher is

undergoing "maintenance" on a minor leg injury.

Maintenance? That's a new one. Is Jiffy Lube checking under the hood while Hardy is on the operating table?

If it's a simple scope, Hardy could be back on the field for training camp.

i think it was understood.

I suppose, or the media is overreacting like they usually do.

I attempted to embed the tweet from the official Panthers twitter, but I guess it doesn't work on mobile.

Just kind of odd that they didn't specifically use that word if it was a surgery of some kind.

just one quote out of what was probably more discussion.

probably minor arthroscopic surgery getting some cartilage cleaned out which wouldn't take more than a day or two to recover from. neither rivera or gettleman are known for keeping quiet about stuff so i think if it was a bigger deal one or the both of them would have blabbed about it or at least said more.

i don't doubt that there was some surgery, i just don't think it's a big deal.

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
