No. 26 Pick: P.J. Hairston

Recommended Posts

Also, I can't say enough how laughable it is that a guy who advertises his football parties on a message board is taking issue with an athlete holding a draft celebration. I mean, really dude? Okay, lol.

You're so ridiculous. There isn't a post you make that isn't off topic or takes things out of proportion. You really have a problem.

Here's the thing- the kind of things that get you in trouble in college wont get you in trouble in the NBA (as far as I recall, he was never charged with anything through all his shenanigans).  He has never let this stuff affect his play on the court, and as long as he keeps things this way he will be a nice asset for the team.

Plus, the great thing about taking him where we did late in the 1st round means he still isnt guaranteed much.  Right now he has a 2 year $2 mil contract, and the only way he can get more is to play well

I fuggin love this pick. PJ is an ideal SG and can get hot in hurry. He needs to be starting day 1.

The only knock on him is his handle could be a bit tighter. Surprisingly though he is pretty good at the jab step and hard dribble to get into the lane.

Since when is he the only athlete drafted in a major sport to hold a draft party?

I'm sorry, but I would definitely have to say you are overthinking this one.

Yup, Cam does this stuff. Most of the young athletes do.

I want to thank PJ for screwing up last summer and thus, getting kicked off of the UNC team.  If he were to have played at UNC last year, he would have been a top 10 pick.  Kid can straight ball, and will be the starting SG by the end of this coming season.  He is a bulldog.

PJ could live off of a diet of cocaine and jack daniels and would still be a better player than Henderson. Idc what he does outside of basketball as long as he shows up to work.

That is why people are worried.  His decisions off the court cost him his college eligibility, and his ability to "show up for work" at Chapel Hill.

The good thing is, that if he does continue to be a knucklehead, the Hornets can part ways with him and all that has been wasted is a late 1st round draft pick.

    • He's 245lbs and ran a 4.5 at the combine several years ago. You can't teach size or speed so he's got those things going for him. If he has a decent work ethic and the coaches have a plan for him, he should be more than a camp body.
    • Great realistic draft, its missing a 5th the Viking one right or you used it to trade for JROd...I see.  Thomas is the 6th is one of those "autos" if there's no Cole Payton/QB.  I believe Parker is like christ, he can play all 5 OL spots if needed.  Crow is one of my targets for months, sometimes I can get with the 4th, but I think he is a solid 3rd rounder.
    • He does have luke-like traits, but ......ugh I hate to spend draft currency on the low valued ILB. Same bitachin I did about Dan traded up for brooks, he even pulled the classic " we had a 1st round grade on him"  Hell I rather see if Wallace finally learned how to get his body ready for a NFL season. Toss this in the pile too, Id be ok with Claudin Cherelus starting. I think Lloyd will elevate any player next to him and Claudin would break out, he's got the same health issues like Sanders.....he's climbing the mountain and pulls a hammy.  Plus since this a great and deep ILB group, the UDFA pool should have a few players that get overlooked.
