When does football season "start" for you?

Recommended Posts

I don't doubt that most people will say that July is the absolute worst sporting month of the year. At least we have the World Cup this year but we all know team USA is going to get the poo beaten out of them (even if we're too riled up in our patriotism to admit it). Anyway for some people football season starts the first day of the first rookie training camp. For others it starts when the Regular season kicks off. For me? The Hall of Fame game, and believe it or not its right around the corner. What say ya'll?

I was going to say it's a great long thing for me. I don't stop following it.

I follow Greg Hardy around and insist I'm his bodyguard. At 6', 210lbs I will protect whatever he is pretty much giant size at this point.

I never stop following it but it starts to feel like football season once training camp starts. And it really starts to feel like football season when college football kicks off. Then it really really starts to feel like football season when the Panthers play their first game.

    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
    • All that being the case or maybe being the case, we do not know Wharton’s timetable n the first place. They are being coy about it. Or maybe not. They say week to week the board says he is terminal lol and must be replaced. Who knows? It may or may not warrant a fairly drastic solution.  Walker is a bargain and we are not well stocked at OL despite recent investments. Freeling has yet to have a single padded practice. Too much speculation driving this plan IMO.
    • I would really love to know who’s actually making these moves because it’s weirdly vague who’s doing the hiring and firing.
