2013 Monsoon Game... fap fap fap

Half the stadium Supercam ripping their rain ponchos in unison when we scored the game winner. That is a game I will tell my grandchildren about.

The...um...imagery from that game was...interesting

One I forgot was the Washington game in 2003.  The Foreskins scored with just under 5 min to go to go up 17-13, of course, their classless fans in B of A, many of which saying "I grew up watching them, blah, blah, blah (I'm so sick of hearing that lame-assed excuse from them and Cowgirl fans)", talking poo a-plenty, only to have Jake lead us down for the winning score with under 2 min left, 20-17.  Davis scored the winning TD, but to this day, I still remember that 4th and 1 we had around our own 30 or so on that drive, Fox actually went for it, and instead of Davis up the gut, Jake did a little shovel toss sweep that Davis took up the sideline for about 30 yards on the play, and nearly took it to the house.

Any time you can see Foreskin or Cowgirl fans leave B of A dejected and suicidal, it makes a day worthwhile.

I remember that game for the controversy over the winning score.

I got to see us destroy the saints and broncs in 08. the significance being Jake's last good year. Plus Shockey was a bum-ass saint that year. That dec I sat next to a bronc fan who promised me at the beginning of the game that Cutler was the future of football....LOL!

That game was one of my favorite memories. Not just because we beat the 'skins (Me before 1995: Who's your favorite team? Anyone playing the Redskins. lol) but because I saw Delhomme wink & smile at Davis before they took the field for that winning drive. And that alone represents what kind of man Jake was, the kind of teammate he was. He knew how important winning that game was to Davis and everyone in the stadium knew Davis would get the ball to score or we wouldn't score at all. That everyone in those ugly red & yellow colors complained about it just made it sweeter.

Then there's the memory of the 1996 team coming back out of the tunnel to run around the field to thank the fans. We all wanted to celebrate, for the winning feeling to never end, and there wasn't a better place to do that then in Ericsson Stadium that night.

I could go on forever. So many small memorable moments in so many games.

I don't think I've ever seen you post here before but I think you suck. And I only say that out of jealousy.

    • The thing I hate about strength of schedule is that NFL teams change so much over a year and past success or failure doesn't really dictate future success or failure
    • Considering you previously struggled to understand BTT despite it being explained in a video, write-up, and multiple replies, I get why this might be a little too complex for you. Happy to clarify again! Just let me know which part tripped you up this time. 😉
    • And, honestly, there's only so much you can attempt to do in the draft. And every draft pick is a roll of the dice. But that's where grabbing a ton of UDFAs, and targeting the best, makes a big difference. Sure, their individual chances of getting a hit here is less, but that shotgun pattern might just hit something.  Right now, we need bulk, partly to rebuild and partly to dilute the deep level of stank that has developed on this team in the last six years. If we're going to rebuild a culture built around culture, accountability and winning, then these UDFAs we bring in each season have to be the wash water that gets out that leftover dirt.  Canales seems to be a smart, culture-first, build up the good ones kind of guy. I like that and I hope he can keep it going here. But he was working against a locker room that had been taught to lose and taught to distrust or ignore coaches. He's got his work cut out for him, still. He does seem to have it moving in the right direction and that's something I was pretty amazed with by the end of last season.
