It took five years but I just finished writing my book.

I started the conceptual process five years ago, after returning from a life-changing trek around Australia and Southeast Asia. Two years ago I set across the Pacific Ocean on a cargo ship to put it all down in words, and two weeks ago I got back from a furiously-concentrated writing session where I polished off the final chapters.

My book is entitled Third Spur East of the Sun. Seeing it printed out, in draft form, was a transcendent experience. It's been an abstraction for years and it blows my mind that it's at this point. It's not quite done - I've still got a couple of volunteers (Kurb included, thanks Kurb) reading copies to provide feedback so I can make final adjustments and polish it up - but I'm only a few weeks away from the daunting process of seeking publication.

My request to you guys, if you are at all interested, is to simply "like" the book page on Facebook and kindly follow me on Twitter (I don't over-post and I rarely retweet, so I won't get in your way.) One of the first things prospective publishers and book agents do is search for the kind of following these things have online, so having respectable numbers behind me with provide invaluable clout.

Huge thanks to anyone who takes the time! The Huddle will receive a collective thanks in my foreword if I manage to get this thing published; you guys have been invaluable during the process of creating this whole thing (even if you've also been the biggest distraction… never try to write a book while logged onto the huddle… it won't happen.)

I remember the cargo ship thread. Has it been 2 years already? I'm contemplating a book project myself, a classic southern Bildungsroman, to be specific. Def will like the page! Good luck and congrats, so far!

    • If this was 3 years ago during BY rookie year and it was fair "best man wins QB", white would have easily won.  I was a hooker fan and it didn't cost the Panthers what 100,000 to bring him in. White just knows to non-stop study the playbook and he's a 30year old pro at this stage.  Boogie too, but he ran out of PS call ups and only the love child of Gilbert and goodwin can remain on the PS. That guy from the 49ers put on a show for a guy just off another team. Im too sick, cause I enjoy following the PS and 6 moves mid-season is a big day!!...
    • Before rip me an ass, let me voice my opinion. It is not sustainable winning with 103 yards passing, no touchdowns, and turnovers. If they didn't have Rico blowing sh%t up, they would be in deep trouble. I am thrilled that they are winning. I am not being negative, just realistic. The season is almost half way over and they still have the problem of anemic QB production. Believe me, they know something has to give sooner or later. I like Bryce as a person and seems like a good dude. But being a good dude will not win games in the long run. Sooner or later, they will have to make a change. Their is a certain level of production that you need from the QB position. This kind of production will not get them to the next level.
