Clearly some you Panther's fans want a white quarterback.  That's what a lot of you guys are really driving at with your idiotic threads, posts, etc attempting to criticize Cam.  All the hatred that gets heaped on you guys is fully warranted.  The same asshats who make excuses for guys like Sam Bradford will be the same guys not giving Cam an inch of wiggle room.  You guys are pathetic.  Seriously, kill yourselves.

I kind of have to agree. I just find it interesting that the QB the op wants is an unproven QB who just happens to be white. I mean I HATE using the race card, but at this point I don't see what else it could possibly be. NO QB has ever been criticized as much as Cam and that's AFTER Cam has come out and rewritten the record books while getting this team back to the playoffs and while growing the franchises national recognition. I'm sorry, thinking Cam isn't a franchise QB isn't a talent issue, it's a personal issue with the one who holds that opinion. I'm not gonna say you're racist if you think Cam can't be an elite QB, but you don't think that based on his talent and ability, it's something else.

My grandfather hates Cam...because he is black.   The guy is in his 90s.. he is stuck living in the past but has the balls to admit why he hates Cam..    "Qb is a white mans position".     He's old school though..  while some of the modern racists prefer to stay hidden...and use flawed arguments as to why Cam is inferior.  Not all of them that rip on Cam constantly are racist..    some are just retarded.

The question is completly legitimate. That's why it generates such over the top contempt among certain Huddle members.

Newton was ranked as the 15th or 16th best QB in the league this year by NFL GM's and scouts.

He has never finished higher than 15th in NFL passer rating.

He has never finished higher than 14th in Total QBR.

He is still young and can obviously improve, but the "breakthrough" season as a consistent pocket QB has not yet materialized.

Certainly his mobility gives him a boost, but how long will that continue ?

He will be 26 next season with a lot of miles on the odometer.

It will be an interesting dynamic as he seeks a long term contract with a ton of guaranteed money up front.

I am just looking at some old games ( 2012 and 2013). Looking at him, his is still making and struggling with the same issues. I know I shouldn't, but I always compare every QB to Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, they hardly get sacked. This is not because their O-lines are that great, but because they feel when pressure is near. Cam is still getting sacked when sometimes he can avoid. It is still frustrating to see him as a thrower. He is an extremely inconsistent and streaky. His mechanics are poor with him throwing off his back foot and unbalanced causing the ball to sail high. I guess is this why they drafted the 6'5'' Kelvin B. I tend to wonder if the front office is sold on him as the future , because Im not. This has to be his make or break year. Love Cam as a person, the best thing that could happen to the Charlotte area, but not my choice for the future. I really like Blake Bortles , I see the Jags going somewhere with him. This is sometimes why I think to myself that Cam would have a better fanbase elsewhere instead of charlotte. Maybe the Oakland Raiders where they yearn for success so much that they would love and appreciate Cam and not take him for granted like the OP and many panther fans do.

One of the biggest problems that Cam faces, is that he was drafted in SEC Land (said with a DEEP southern accent).  I am really tired of all the bigots and SEC morons that hate a good quarterback and good human being just because they do.  He has done nothing to anybody and I don't want to hear all the crap about accuracy, blah blah blah, decision making, blah blah blah, or some stupid $200 laptop.  The dude has done nothing but dominate the NFL since coming into the league.  He has taken this team from 2 wins in 2010 to 12 last year.  He is a winner.  Period.  He has won at every freaking level of competition.  He has dominated at every level of competition.  We are blessed to have Cam as our QB for many reasons.  He brings publicity to the great town of Charlotte NC, he gives his time and money to kids all the time, and he will eventually lead us to the Super Bowl.  Cam has character and there are many players in the league that you can't say that about.  I love Cam Newton.  Thank you Cam for all your hard work and all that you do for our favorite team.  Now keep on humiliating the idiots who don't like you, and don't like you for no good reason.

Not yet. That's my opinion. He has made improvements year to year but has yet to be a top 10 QB in his passing abilities. Take away his running ability and his is above average. This is just my opinion but I just don't see him having the same passing ability as Brady Brees, Maning, Rodgers, Big Ben, Rivers, Wilson, Romo, Stafford or Ryan. Combine his running ability with his passing ability and he arguably could be a top 10 QB. I think Cam could be a great QB in the future but right now he is probably in the top 15.

Why would you ever take away his running ability while evalutaing him.  I say take away Brees and Brady's throwing ability and they wouldn't even be in the NFL.

Funny how this race card crap never came up when Jake was the QB, people hated or loved him as a QB, but he's white so no race card for that...smh.

I don't think it's that clear. I think the OP was just hating on stuff like his errant throws that he shows from time to time. Accusations of racism are pretty lame if they don't have any evidence you know?

That said Cam is the man and I am so happy to have him as our franchise QB, which he no doubt is. Oh and I love the huddle for it's great input in the form of cat pics to dumbass topics like the OP created lol
