Final Panther cuts 8-30-2014

Much consternation came out of Charlotte this offseason as fans watched the Panthers cut Steve Smith and let Brandon LaFell, Ted Ginn and Domenik Hixon all walk in free agency.

Despite the overhaul, the Panthers' receivers group actually shapes up better in 2014 thanks to rookie Kelvin Benjamin, who looks like the real deal thus far. Benjamin's playmaking ability works nicely with veteran possession receivers Jerricho Cotchery and Jason Avant.

Every time I see this play I don't think, "wow, what a nice play". I think, "Smitty from a few years ago would have took that to the house".

I think about how we don't have a receiver on roster who could do anything similar.

Yeah I completely wiped the Nicks debacle from memory after GMan told him he was better off going elsewhere... lol... oh the butthurt is so fresh still.

*facepalm*

But hey, we signed Cotchery, Avant, and have two UDFAs rounding out the WR corps! #offseasonwin #allaboutdahogmawliesdoe #pahkdahcaw

Could we wait until either Nicks produces for the season or Avant/Cotchery fail to produce before we call Gettlemen's decision a debacle?

You people are ridiculous. There were two reasons we got rid of Steve. The main reason was that we want Cam to be the guy on this team and Steve was in his way. The other was that his cap his next year was crazy high so we got rid of him before that was an option.
