You rock Byron!

Yeah, because your opinion means much more than people who have been working and studying football for entire lives who actually work for the team.

When he's the only option you have, he has to play. Doesn't make him any better. Sorry, pal.

I didn't say he was an all-pro, but I think you have a false sense of self worth when it comes to evaluating talent.

This thread is being flooded with sheeple. Bell is not very good accept it. No matter how much he is a great guy and you want to like him he just sucks at football. I saw someone mention that amini is just as bad...well amini road grades people in the run game and is basically only in his second year.

I 've never seen bell destroy anyone except cams backside and that awesome practice speech.

The role of a fan, the 12th man of a team is to support your team and so the players, a well supported player will play much better. this is obvious for the majority but obviously not everyone......

He's a starter at the sports highest level. Whether he is one of the better players in the NFL or not he does not suck at football.

Lurker here...

So I'm sure you think Marty Hurney did exactly what needed to be done and you never second guessed his personnel decisions. After all, he knew much more than we do, right?

I really hope Byron Bell can get better but there's no doubt he's struggled and I question the constant praising him. Most fans I've talked to outside of CH agree.

I didn't say that.

The dude said Byron Bell has the talent of a 3rd stringer and that's just not true.

It's almost impossible for a fan to judge the play of the o-line without a knowledge of game-plan and assignments above any other position (unless they are just getting abused physically), so really most are just talking out of their ass when it comes to players like Byron Bell.

The problem is Bell was consistently ranked one of the worst RTs in football last year.  It isn't just 2 plays a game.  It is enough plays that it is hurting your team.

2 points I want to make to that ..

1. It was at RT so he could be just as bad, worse or better at LT.  Thus every ones wait and see comment.

2. Was it the rating difference between one of the worse and one of the best?  I'm only saying if you took out say his 2 worst games where would he rate? Or does 1 sack or miss assignment moves his grade from middle of the pack to almost last?  I don't know tbh.

He'll be talking out of his own ass every time he lines up against a mediocre DE. Prepare to get blown up.

    • So Willis had a good game against a poor defense and all of a sudden he is worth 50 million and is guaranteed to be better than Young. LOL I know he looked good in the 3 games he started, and I think he will have success long term, but anyone signing him up for a long term contract for 50 million is taking a huge risk.
    • Is he really though? Rivera was past his prime and probably shouldn't have even started 2019 so his firing wasn't really unexpected or unwarranted. Rhule lasted two and a half years which was about one year too long in my opinion. Bringing him back that third year certainly wasn't impulsive and I would say Tepper was more patient than he should have been. Wilks finished out that third season and did pretty good but most everyone could see he really wasn't anything more than an intern HC. Bringing him back was not the long term answer so not bringing him back was the correct call. Hiring Reich was a mistake from the beginning and he recognized that fairly quickly. I am sure he knew he was going to catch a lot of sh*t for firing him so quickly ( and boy did he ) but it was absolutely the right thing to do given everything that was going on. The firing may have looked impulsive, but I think it was him recognizing he had royally f*ck up and just dealt with it instead of letting it fester.  That brings us to Canales. 2025 was only his second season and yet he delivered 8 wins and the NFC South title. And while that might not sound great, given the lack of talent and cap space they started with, it's a strong step in the right direction. I couldn't imagine Tepper not being pleased with their progress given the crap the Panthers' have been though under his ownership.
