Saints extend Junior Galette for 4 years, $41.5 million. $23 million guaranteed.

He had 9.5 sacks his first 3 seasons combined. One breakout season last year with 12 sacks and they give him a big extension, even though he had 2 years left on his current contract and they could have waited. Very foolish IMO, should have waited at least one more year unless he was willing to sign at a rock bottom price (not $10+ million a year).

Hold on sparky. They have to mortgage the future before the Panthers run the division for a couple decades

Galette came in as an UDFA and only appeared in a few games his rookie year. It was basically a redshirt year. His first two years actually playing he combined for 9.5 sacks. (Hardy had 7 his first two years.) Galette is a beast and the Saints locked him up for the next 6 years which will basically be his prime. He's 26 and only getting better. 10 million a year could end up being a bargain.
