Anyone Else Notice DA's Number of Audibles?

What's your take on it? I don't recall Cam making that many changes at the line. I just found it odd because DA did it repeatedly and as a result, the offense was often making adjustments and shifting all the way up to :00 on the playclock.

My take is going way up to :00 on the clock is a problem. Other teams doing audibles don't almost run out of time every time.

I didn't see anything pre-snap that I considered any different than what I normally see, other than preferring Anderson's energy to Cam's swag. Cam is too cool to the point of moving too slow and making his team listless before the ball is even snapped. That has always needed to change.

It wasn't just "kansas" though, it was the hand signals and changing formations after looking at the defense combined with the calls.

Maybe you just don't notice some of Cam's other audibles. I don't know it seems to be a presumptuous thing without actually being on the line and knowing the playbook.

Yea Cam made huge strides in the audible game last season. He does it more calmly than some other QBs (not saying thats better or worse) so sometimes its easy to mistake it for regular cadence talk.

Worse. Needs more energy pre-snap. Always has. That sets the tone.

Yeah we saw Cam start to audible a lot last year and there have been reports that even more was being added into that repertoire this year. I'd imagine this is an extension of that. I like to see the QBs have that kind of power so that's good in my book.

Nah, I definitely notice anytime a QB "audibles" and players shift as a result. Those are pretty obvious. It may have been because DA is louder or more animated? But, you're right, it is presumptuous on my/our part as a fan(s) to assume any shift combined with QB vocalization is an audible.

Or maybe Cam doesn't audible as much as DA, because he feels he can beat certain looks.  Just maybe, he has a different skill set than DA.  Maybe he knows he can force the issue on particular plays as opposed to checking down/ changing protection/changing the entire play.

Yup...  I just want Cam to have every option available to him, as his skillset is unmatched.

The downside to "audibling" (I don't think there's a correct spelling for that, or if that is even a word, lol), is making the wrong call as well.  I do recall one play in particular yesterday where DA made the call, was gesturing for guys to hurry up and get set, the formation was changed, and he handed it off and the play got blown up for a loss.

If I'm not mistaken, he was in shotgun initially and then ended up going under center after the audible.

Anderson is a savvy vet.

He should have a better understanding of opposing defenses than Cam..     That's my take on it.  Not a slight to our beloved QB Ruler, Cam.. just a compliment to Anderson and his many ,  many years of sitting around, holding a clipboard and examining image after image of what defenses are doing in actual games...from the bench.            Cam will get to the point of making a ton of different pre-snap changes soon. even more than he made last season.
