Personally, I feel the NFLs stance on domestic violence is sexist

You know what, I agree with you to a degree. To me, the NFL is reacting to the issue at hand in an overzealous manner in order to "prove" to everyone that they are against domestic Violence.

I know it's apples and oranges, but the Patriot act was a knee jerk reaction to a horrible event. There wasn't a ton of thought put into it, and if you spoke out against it for legitimate concerns, you were considered un-American.

I feel like this is a similar situation. If you are opposed to the way the NFL is handling things now, then you are for domestic violence. Right now I'm just waiting for this situation to blow up in someone's face... because it's going to happen sooner or later.

So if you're an owner or a coach and one of your players gets accused, what do you do now?  Where violence against women is concerned, it's almost a guilt by association charge and you have to prove your innocence rather than be proven guilty.  Colleges suspend young men for even being accused, and the accusation can stem from nothing more than a "Oops, I got drunk and slept with him--wish I hadn't" attitude.

If you're a pro athlete, and you're in a relationship, you're going to want to have fun in that relationship.  You will want to go out and spend money on your woman, take her nice places, etc.  If you find that she's going out with someone else at the same time, you might get upset and want to break up.  If she then shows up high on cocaine at your house, after you've had some drinks with a buddy, and she makes such a scene that you have to call 911, what do you do when she accuses you of abuse?  Should that accusation cause you to lose millions of dollars in game checks?  Should it be allowed to hurt the team?  If you're innocent but have to miss time because of an angry woman's accusations, who pays for that harm?

So say you own the team, or you're the head coach, and a player gets caught in this scenario.  Who do you side with?

This isn't anything new. NFL players have robbed, raped and killed plenty of people. Just like any major corporation is going to have bad people who work for them. It happens.

Let the police handle the off field issues. The NFL can't send people to jail. I don't understand why people are saying Goodell should be fired. Goodell did ban Rice and after the video he was disciplined more. The video should be irrelevant. If the NFL did investigate then they already knew what Rice did.

Now people like Hardy will more than likely be punished because there is a witch hunt going down and the media wants anyone with domestic violence charges to pay no matter if convicted.

I believe that the NFL should wait to ban a player until the courts decide if the player is guilty.

I am for waiting to see what is true and what is not.

At that point, he is on the team or off the team.

Pretty simple.

Our owner has always tried to keep turds from coming here via FA and crap like this can pop up on any team.  With no marks on the woman at all, just a he said, she said, you have to let him have his day.

His fate should be with the jury, not the court of public opinion.  Now, if there are secret photos of a bruised woman, or video of something, then that changes everything, but with what we know, it is a non issue with me until the trial.
