New York Post: "Meet the powerhouse Panthers," rank Panthers #1 in NFC

The New York Post, the 13th-oldest and seventh-most widely circulated newspaper in the United States, has Panthers #2 in in NFL only behind Broncos with the headline: "NFL Power Rankings: Meet the powerhouse Panthers"

"Cam Newton and the Panthers are flying high with a 2-0 start backed by a clamp-down defense... The Seahawks’ defense might get most of the attention, but its counterpart in Carolina needs to start being part of the conversation. The Panthers are 2-0 ... and almost all of the credit needs to go to a defense that..looks every bit as suffocating as the one in Seattle. ... Do-everything linebacker Luke Kuechly, the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, is off to an unsurprising hot start, but he’s far from the whole story. It’s players like Dwan Edwards and Mario Addison (each with 2 1/2 sacks already) who are making the true difference."

The New York Post also tweeted: "NFL Power Rankings: Most wrote off the Panthers , but they look just as good as last year"

And the mad scramble to regain credibility begins. The Panthers are a lot like Cam in that the media has misjudged them.

Some with eat their crispy Cajun seasoned Crow-jangles® like men, while others like Terry and Boomer will just hate and wish for us to fail and masturbate like crazed weasels if and when we do.

I hate the sports media.  All they know is what was popular last week or they go off of the popular team.  We ran the table for how many games in a row before losing in the playoffs?  And they all picked us to drop back into the dog house.  They don't see Rivera as a top coach, they only now considering the defense as legit, and Cam is still only an ok QB with great upside.  Give me a break.

    • I mean I think its a bit disingenuous to call basically anyone here a casual fan. I don't think the casual fan creates a profile then logs into it, in the offseason, to comments on mundane offseason topics.. I dont think anyone on here would be considered a casual fan. That said, I get your point. My POV is from the player. They sign this contract, move their family because of these contracts. When Clowney came him, we basically had a coming home party for him.  So yeah, I get why we did it and I know that ultimately the owner doesnt 'save' money, but I can feel for the human side of the player, which is why I want them to get all they can while they can.
    • My guess is the NBA will either send Flagg back “home” to the Northeast in Brooklyn or Washington, or San Antonio so that they can keep building around Wemby. If I was a betting man I would take the odds on the Spurs. This definitely feels like a #1 pick that they will rig.
    • In fairness, she is ensuring she is talked about.  People really aren’t going out there way to bring her up.  It’s some weird poo.  She would end up getting talked about given her actions if she was 40. Bill realizing some of these high end “companions” got a game of their own.  That’s what I don’t think Bill saw coming.
