So... Who is going to be our leader this year?

Last year it was Steve Smith, who at this time, called a players only meeting and really got on everybody and challenged them. Who is going to do that this year? Cam is no doubt a great player, however, he is not a leader. So, who will it be, or will it be nobody and we continue to crumble? I honestly don't see that type of player on our team at the moment. Somebody who can rally the troups and get the team fired up.

Cam has a different kind of leadership.

Actually, pretty sure it was Gross who called meeting. They talked about it on WFNZ.

How is Cam not a leader? During the Pittsburgh travesty, when Philly made that blunder, he was right next to Philly afterwards pumping him up.  I saw him doing that throughout the whole game.  Cam is the leader on offense, and Thomas Davis on defense.  Our biggest problem has been our defense.  Davis was hurt against Pittsburgh, and out today against the Ravens.  We need him back out there.  If anyone is going to get this defense back in order, its him.  He's the best player on our defense.

It just doesn't seem like players respond well to Cam. Just my opinion.

    • I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

    • Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
