He asked to be released last year. He really didn't "get over it" as he couldn't even get over 70 yards last year. His time was up with us.

Regardless, as I mentioned elsewhere, Smitty asked for a release/trade under Hurney and Fox, and he didn't get it then. Ultimately, he just wanted to be coddled and his ego stroked. Gettleman insulted him and then got rid of him when Smitty let it be known he was offended by it.
