Defense might be bad, but ST blew it 2 weeks in a row...

Key defensive stops 2 weeks in a row were blown by special teams.

Steelers

~Defense stops steelers in redzone.  Off-sides call gives them the ball back which results in TD.  +4 points

~Defense gets a key 3 and out.  Special teams fumbles ball Steelers recover in end-zone.  +7 points

Ravens

~ Defense gets a key 3 and out to regain momentum in 2nd half.  ST has 12 men on field.  Drive continues for TD. +7 Points.

I know defense made a lot of mistakes, but they definitely weren't helped by ST.  ST helped contribute to 18 points against us over 2 weeks which is completely unacceptable.

It doesn't matter.  Let's say we get the stop, and go on to score.  The defense would've just let the Ravens score on their next drive. They couldn't stop a nose bleed today.  I knew it was going to be one of those "defensive games" when the offense went and tied it up at 7, and on the next possession, BAL came right up the field and broke the tie.

There CANNOT be a but when it comes to our defense. Just like there cannot be a but when it comes to the offenses of the Eagles, Saints, Falcons, Broncos, Bears, or Lions. Similarly there cannot be a but when it comes to the defense of the 49ers and the Seahawks, Cardinals and Rams.

This is where nearly all of our resources are going. We are going NOWHERE if they cannot hold teams to under 17 points.

This team is not based on offense or ST. It is based (and therefore resources are being sucked) into the defense.

This defense MUST over come (and should) a bad offense and ST.

For what, a season and a half (second half of 2012, and 2013)?

And even so, you gotta try to score points, and not just run the clock down for your crappy defense?

    • That’s not a bad idea at all. I was really liking the whole cali-style carne asada. We might do that next week instead of enchiladas for the rams. Was planning on: Saints-Gumbo Tampa-Cuban Sandwiches Seattle- Salmon Stew Tampa- Seafood Boil
    • I agree, honestly you can not trade a player that has Balls talent. Just sitting in street clothes FOR years, it doesn't matter if you are averaging 50points on 88% with 18 rebs, 15 asst, 4 stls if you never can play. These are the worst type of players, teasers. Its HIS JOB to get his body in NBA shape and he has proven that he can not. Thus you break the rule about trading top shelf talent. Hell NBA need to have NFL contracts where the full sum isn't guaranteed, you bet your ass if his money was tied to his playing on the court he'd somehow figure out how to stay healthy.   Plus Im a old head, I member when Seth Curry in his 17(Jesus..) year career had ankle problems and guess what, he solved the issues and got all the money, championships, and fame. Ball doesn't have the same drive to figure out his body, he'd rather drive his car on kids feet while rushing home to drive his go-cart on the roof of his condo after missing his 42nd game of the season.....
