The NFC South Is Wide Open

A note to all.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints, and yes our Carolina Panthers are all flawed.

So tonight, "How about them Cowboys!".

Still a long way to go Panther fans.

If Rivera can get the Hardy situation behind us and the team all pulling in the same direction all is not lost.

It is. Not only because it is a winnable game but also it is a home game.

We win 5 out of 6 home games left on schedule and get wins at Minny and Atlanta, that gets us to 9. Just need to sneak one more road win somewhere like GB and we get 10

There's two ways this season will unfold.

1-

Carolina continues to treat Cam Newton like Trent Dilfer & we finish under .500

2-

Carolina takes off the handcuffs & uses their superstar QB & runs away with the Division

This "take off the handcuffs" thing needed to die last season. Sticking in the pocket is part of what Cam does. He doesn't magically take off at the first hint of pressure. He goes through his reads and then takes off if he can't find an option. It's always been that way and if you believe otherwise you've just bought into some kind of narrative about Newton without ever actually watching how he plays. He isn't handcuffed, the pocket is just collapsing faster than he can get through his reads. He's reacting to the pressure the same as always. There are no handcuffs. There is just a piss poor line.

I love me some Cam, but to suggest that we're restricting him is backwards. His game hasn't changed and isn't being held back. The line simply isn't holding so that he can play his way. That needs to change, quick.

I completely agree with you. We still have a chance to make it to the playoffs. We just gotta be more consistent as a team and stop shooting ourselves in the foot. At the end of the day, I still believe we have the best team in our division. It's time for the sleeping monster to wake up. This Chicago game is huge for us and could determine what kind of team we have on our hands for the rest of the season.

    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
    • Didn’t get around to watching this one but looks like Pistons played their starters and actually tried…? Unlucky that they sit vs Magic, etc and try vs us. Hopefully we can beat the Heat and then Magic or 6ers with no Embiid. BUT if not, the NBA really should give us the lottery win this year like they did Mavs last year. Another high pick could be our final missing piece and have us as legit top contenders next year and going forward if we’re healthy. Or trade it for a Giannis type
