Last year shows the same. This means our runs are very predictable. Didn't need those stats to know think that but it confirms it.

 

When we have a run formation it is almost always a run up the middle or play action with Cam direct run sprinkled in.

I hope Gettleman's learning a lesson this year.  I get the impression that he may have thought he was a lot smarter than he actually is and that this gig would be much easier than it's turned out to be.  Replacing your entire secondary and WR corps while also replacing a stalwart LT with bargain bin cast-offs isn't exactly easy.

Was thinking the same thing on Sunday. What Jordan said. I guess the organization is ok, besides the fact the organization (Cam Newton) gets slaughtered every game now cause Gross had to leave.

Trying to discern information from these statistics is a waste of time. When you run the ball 8 times a game, 1 play can swing the numbers drastically. And that play may have worked for reasons statistics don't bear out. 

 

Blaming our Left and Right tackle for runs to the left or right is too simple. There are many moving parts to our run game. We often pull a guard or two on outside runs and leave a Tight End blocking a Defensive End or even Tackle. If that Tight End loses, the play fails. If the guard is slow getting out front, the play fails. If the defense gets tipped by any of the 11 guys, the play fails. Our entire offensive line, including Ryan Kalil, is out of sync and slow at the snap. It honestly looks like the defense knows the snap count but our guys do not. Bell and Chandler are getting 90% of the blame but our guards and centers are getting pushed into Cam's lap. Our tackles are trying to ferry guys behind Cam as he steps up into the pocket. But there is no where to step up. Bell takes the blame but Cam is giving the rusher the angle because of the inside pressure.

 

Of course both our tackles have given up indefensible sacks as well.
