Alexander was drafted here in 2012, looked promising at the start, got in Rivera's doghouse (probably for being an idiot) and got himself suspended using drugs. The team, as you'd expect, waited out the suspension. But now he's proven again that he's an idiot.

Where's the gamble?.

We didn't "count on him".  We just didn't cut him.  That's pretty standard procedure for teams when it's a guy's first suspension.
