I don't think Chud had a fair wrap here. Yeah, he went 7-9. But think back, how many of those games were lost because of the defense? If the defense stopped anybody late in games that year, we would have won about 4 more games. And acatually, if you think back, it wasn't all Chud's fault at the end of games. Cam choked quite a bit back then and the defense choked every game. Personally, I liked Chud. And now that Cam is more mature and can handle a lot more workload, I think him and Chud would do this offense wonders if they hooked back up.

I find it rather comical people are using our record as an indicator of Chud and Shula's abilities as OCs.  Shula got veteran Cam, an elite defense and Riverboat Ron to compensate for his playcalling.  Chud had rookie/still learning Cam, a middle of the road defense and Scared Ron.  And no, not for a second will I believe that our elite defense is a product of Shula's conservative offense.  We simply have better players on our defense now than we did those years.  I'm not saying I'm a big fan of Chud, the over-reliance on the read option was annoying and the first half of his second season was maddening, but I'd take him over Shula any day.

I think some people forget just how bad our defense was when Chud was around. Sorry but Chud was much better OC than Shula and people just try to skew that fact because we are stuck with a sub par OC. With that said I wish we could just get a OC that was a good game caller, I dont need fancy but for once I would like to see a offense that made defenses adjust to them.

Shula = boring, predictable, but won't be the reason you lose games. 14-6 record and the 2 losses this year go on our D more than O

 

Yea the 10 points we scored are totally the defenses fault....just as bad as the D so stop saying it's because of the D...the offense can drop 30 any day now...still waiting.
