Panther fans!

I am the resident grouch when it comes to opposing fans taking over our building. Today was no exception. Bears fans were everywhere. HOWEVER, big props to the Panther fans that didn't sell out to a Bears fan today. We brought some damn noise and those sons of bitches from the Windy City had a pretty lousy stroll back to their 1985 Country Squire station wagons after the game. It was magnificent.

Oh and icing on the cake for me was reading this tweet

@ProFootballTalk: Tony Romo: It felt like a road game because of all the Texans fans http://t.co/6WoqQhYCkj

Honestly, it's like that literally everywhere these days. I get pissed off seeing it every time, but it's not just Carolina. People, myself included, bash our fan base & laugh at it but it's honestly just the status quo in the NFL.

Did you see the Texans-Cowboys game today in Dallas? It was literally 50-50, Romo even said it felt like a road game. Dallas is "America's Team" and there are always tons of opposing fans in Dallas.

I caught the start of the 2nd half of the Chiefs-49ers in SF. Think our stands are empty to start a half? The 49ers stadium literally looked 90% empty when they kicked off to start the 2nd half.

Even the Seahawks, who are the trendy new bandwagon team and have a loyal fan base up in the middle of nowhere in the NW. When they played the Broncos a few weeks ago their stadium looked Orange on tv.

It's not the 70's where everyone grows up watching whatever one team comes on the set box and everybody lives their life down the street from mom & dad. Millions of people live in entirely different regions than they were raised. It's also not the 70's where you either buy tickets at the box office or scalp for them across the street. You just go to the Internet & get what you want.

I've bitched & moaned for years about opposing fans at BOA, but I've recently noticed it's happening everywhere else, too.

Since we can't seem to stop the opponent fans from getting into the stadium, then we need to make sure their stay is a miserable one and they leave pissed and dejected.

During the first half they were doing that stupid ass Bears chant & it pissed me off. Gave me flashbacks to 2010 miseries.

Then the team woke up & kicked their ass. And all those loudmouth fans left with their head held low.

Lowest of lows, highest of highs.

I guess after Steelers week this one did not seem quite as bad to me inside the stadium. That was brutal. Plus today I got to point at a guy wearing an f-ing Raiders hat and make fun of him. Really?!?!? He had nothing to say.

Make them wish they should have not came to our stadium unless they root for the Panthers.

I've always said that watching games in the NFC South was the friendliest/nicest of the division rivalries. I've never had a bad time in Tampa or NO, and the Falcons fans at the Dome are easy enough to jabber back with.

Making visitors feel unwelcome? That's a bad reputation to have.

I'm going to make a bingo card for other team's gear not including the two teams playing.. Today I saw, cowboys?, Eagles?, Packers?, Jets?, raiders?, Redskins?, Steelers?, Patriots?, A big ol WTF to those guys.

I play a game with my brother, cousin, & best friend at each home game (we all four have PSLs in different sections & bring our families).

Remember the Where's Waldo children's books? Yeah, we started playing a Cowboys Edition about 3 years ago called Where's Romo. First person to find a dude in a Romo jersey, take a picture with him, & text it to the other 3 gets a free beer from the 3 losers. My brother won today. Found Romo in the fuging concourse right after he walked in. Never fails, he's always there. I found him in the bathroom last year against the Saints. That was an awkward photo.

If you walk around before the game, look at the corporate tents. The people that have no clue get invited to a football game, and just wear a jersey "to fit in". I'll bet when they get an email about the game it tells them to "wear a jersey".

    • I have never seen this cat play a single snap of football, BUT, I really hope that we're not counting on a 25 yo, UDFA who played 6 years of college ball to suddenly replace our starting LB.  Sounds to me like Dean Jones needed a story and didn't have anything else to write about. Wishing the guy luck though, cool nickname.
    • I'll go 1 further than that. This 23 year old had spent 4 years as a middle of the pack college player before exploding onto the scene as a 5th year senior, then we have enough faith in him to trade up 1 spot so that we can get a 5th year option and guarantee his salary. So in about a year's time he went from a mid round pick to a first rounder. It would be hard NOT to let that go to your head! I'm going to trust that the staff know what they're doing with XL and not give him too much crap about being a dumbass LAST season, as long as he doesn't continue to be one.
    • From Brugler's scouting report... Tavareon “Bam” Martin-Scott picked up his nickname because of the fireworks celebration he typically receives to celebrate his birthday. He grew up playing pee wee football in Fort Wayne, Ind., but developed late and was mostly a part-time player until his senior year at Snider High (alma mater of Jessie Bates). He posted 87 tackles and 6.0 sacks as a senior in 2018, but it wasn’t enough to put him on the recruiting radar. A no-star recruit, he played two seasons with Dodge City (Kan.) Community College and then received several SEC offers. His playing time and production gradually increased each season for the Gamecocks, and he put intriguing flashes on film. Martin-Scott is a good-sized athlete, with pursuit speed to match races to the perimeter. He competes with a banger mentality to pinball off blocks and stay determined on his path to the ball. Overall, Martin-Scott freelances a tad too much with inconsistent steps in coverage, but he is a classic run-and-hit linebacker who likes to play loose and chase plays — necessary ingredients for NFL special teams. grade: Free Agent
