We are more disapline imo. We dont choke at the end i feel like we finish better. More experience.

plus i think we will get it together here defensivly soon. We dont typically have good starts. Best start in a long time this season folks. We will build up steam and finish strong.

Green Bay was also really fuging good that year.  They just picked a bad day to have a bad day against the Cinderella Giants 2.0 in the playoffs.  I remember facepalming at all the drops they had that day.  That bye week + week 17 rest seemed to really fug them up.

They dominated like everyone on their way to 15-1 IIRC.  Other than their one loss, I think that game against us was like the only real scare they had all year.

People seem to forget this is the best start we've had here in years. Those two ass whippin's we took at the hands of Balt and Pitt really hurt fan moral.

In the skill positions there has been a significant downgrade.  The OL was fairly good in 2011 and has since broken apart, fallen apart and regressed to a shell of an NFL OL.

On D there have been upgrades to the flashy positions and if you look at the starting roster you'll be impressed.  But, the NFL D of today is not centered around this starting depth chart.  You need depth on the DL to rotate your players, you need at least 3 above average CB's and at least one very good pass coverage LB or very good FS.  The SS position is becoming the most important position on D and you can't scrape the bottom of the pan for this guy.  So while the D has got better talent on the top end the bottom end is weak.  This is also very important for sub packages and schemes on D.

The Panthers are a better team today because of a few players then they were in 2011 but they are not more successful team because the lack of quality talent in key positions and depth.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
