A potential job interview or an interview for a potential job?

That is a long way to travel for an interview that may or may not happen.

I had a phone interview that went well and I'm waiting to see if they are flying me up there for the in-person.  They we're clear they have a couple local candidates they are considering first to avoid paying the relocation costs.  At least they're being honest.

She's from NC. We were really close to some Catholic college

I'm confused. You said shes from NC but you originally said you met a chick there and had a weekend. The chick you met in WA was originally from NC? And are you sure it wasn't a Mormon college?

And to the OP it's a nice area, the people can be standoffish though, no fireworks on the 4th, the left lane of I-5 all par for the course. Then again there is legal weed.

Could have been. Initials AT and she has a beagle?

I used to live in Olympia, WA. The rain is definitely exaggerated (unless by "way more rain" you mean average 6 inches more per year than Austin). However, the grey, cloud covered sky is the real deal and it does mess with your mood horribly. However, when the skies are clear, I'm convinced that particular area is the most beautiful place on the planet.

If you're the outdoors type, Seattle will be great for you. It is literally surrounded by National Parks and the wilderness is so close it will blow your mind. There's just something very appealing to me about deciding if I want to spend a July afternoon at the beach 10 minutes away or go to Mt. Rainier an hour away to play in the snow.

The bad: As someone else mentioned, traffic can (and will) turn you into a homicidal maniac. Seattle is sandwiched between the Puget Sound and Lake Washington so all those commuters do not have very many alternate routes. If you like large lawns, then you will be disappointed there. When I said the wilderness is close... it might be too close for some http://www.grahamlawyerblog.com/2009/09/07/mountain-lion-visits-urban-seattle-park/

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
