Ah yes, the age old Pittsburgh gave him 25 million argument!

Riddle me this batman, does he even get offered 25 million if we lock him up during the season????? If the FO would have extended his contract in season, LIKE THEY SHOULD HAVE, then Mitchell would still be here! He would have never even been able to test FA and he would have stayed. He loved this team!

Put that in your pipe and smoke it Gettlemagic lovers

You do know you cant negotiate contracts in the NFL season. But you're right, stupid Gettlemagic could not change the rules.

Just stop. It's as if I'm listening to kindergarten kids. Our defense was absolutely fine in the first two weeks of the season. We freaking limited Calvin Johnson, Eric Ebron, Matthew Stafford, Golden Tate, etc to seven points without Greg Hardy and Mike Mitchell.

Once McCown quit with the largely self inflicted full retard play.....late in the game they drove it down our throats with ease on back to back TD drives positioning Tampa.

There were signs week 1... we were different.

There's nothing to disagree with. You guys need a scapegoat (a reason) to justify why our squad just isn't effective as last year's. We aren't undisciplined, lackluster on technique, lethargic, etc on defense after being the opposite of that no more than a few weeks ago. If you honestly believe that having Mitchell, Captain and Hardy back in the line up would make us a Top Tier defense again, then I have beachfront property I'd like to sell you.

We're broken. This isn't a talent issue.

I can't agree. Look, the concept of the defense last year was bend but don't break, we'd constantly make teams have to go 13-14 plays on a drive, the consensus belief is if an offense has to use that many plays to score, they will eventually make a mistake. Problem is right now, we've given up twice as many big plays this year than we did all last season, and that's through 7 weeks. Why does this matter to my argument, well, in the case of Mitchell, mikell, captain, and Florence, (and white)while they werent great coverage guys, they were however good tacklers and decent at taking angles, so when the front 7 didn't make a stop, they'd know that Mitchell or someone would stop the runner or receiver within 10 yards. The New England game last year was this philosophy to a tee, the patriots dinked and dunked us down the field. While they kept scoring, they never got anything in big chunks, we forced them to work for it. Harper, decoud, Godfrey and Cason (and white) are missing tackles and taking poor angles. Hardy is missed in stopping the run and forcing turnovers, but our overall defensive faults are allowing 50 yard gains on plays that should go for 5, and that falls on the guys in the secondary.

There were but for 90% of the game our defense was lights out. We were dominant in the trenches, swarming anybody who held the ball, playing disciplined, making open field tackles, etc. Stuff like that just doesn't disappear.

A lot of McCown just going full retard was confused as dominant defense. They moment he quit doing comically awful stuff....our D turned into Swiss cheese.

McCown was so bad it made it impossivle to judge the Tampa O or our D for most of that game
