My Thoughts...since I know you were waiting. SCP poop joke coming.

The biggest game of the season is coming up ...in a week and a half. Beating the 'hawks would be huge but either way we win next Thursday against the faints and we are still leading the NFCS at least by .5 games. Perhaps as much as 2.5. With 7 games left and a bye week.

Soft spot in the schedule comes after that.  And we need it.

The NFCS sucks and we could presumably just limp into a home playoff game. I'll limp into the Superbowl like an SCP Poop. Wait that didn't work. We should be favored in most of the remaining NFCS games. All I have ever wanted from this team is a home playoff game. That is pretty much the only reason I ever bought PSLS. That and watching people pay $300/tk on the street when Dallas comes to town.

But we stink right now. (O really?). Like SCP poop stank in an Odessa Texas Waffle House. (Better)

Everyone is trying to place blame on so and so and so and so but I am going to throw this out there. IT IS ALL ABOUT GREG HARDY. Just like SCP's poop. Nope sorry didn't work.

The defense didn't just lose an elite player.

  • While not the "leader" of the offense Greg was the corner stone talent-wise and allowed Luke et. al. to do their jobs
  • Our defense is feeling pressure without that guy. Perhaps a need to push too much. Overcompensating.
  • Our team is tired of being in the media for team that is never in the media. And for a guy they probably love. Hopefully recovering now.
  • There may be some questioning of management. Did they do enough to support the player?
  • We are failing at the fundamentals.
  • It's on the coaches to fix it. No reason we should not finish strong.

Politics and emotion are a huge deal in the locker room even though we tend to assume that our players are automatons.

tl;dr: Season is shaping up nicely. Poop.

Yeah, I think this 1st New Orleans game will be a turning point for who will win the South.

Meanwhile however I'd like to spank a Seattle team in a bit of turmoil who has to come East again Sunday.

Seahawks have been to DC, home, St. Louis and now Carolina. This West Coast team is vulnerable.

Fug the Taints, we're gonna beat them next.

Hardy's absense definitely hurts. He's not there to command the double teams, and that's allowing Defenses to tee off on us. We used to have two DEs that both commanded double teams which allowed our DTs to beat their men individually. Now it's our DTs getting doubled and that keeps our LBers from chuting the gaps. Hardy needs to be in the line up soon. Ealy looks to be a bust at this point. Hopefully I eat those words, but it's not looking like it. Anyways, we need Hardy

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A HALF GAME

Jesus Christ 99% of people don't understand how a tie works. It doesn't count on our record. It has literally no bearing on our winning percentage, which is what determines standings in the NFL. At 3-3-1 we are exactly .500. The only reason they list the 1 is to show a game was played. That's it. Our season is 15 games, assuming we have no more ties

If we finish 9-6-1 & NO finishes 9-7, we don't win the division because we're "half a game" ahead or because we have fewer loses. We beat NO because our winning percentage (60%) beats NO (56%).

NFL.com states the division winner is the team with the highest Win-Loss-Tied Percentage. So hypothetically, a team that finishes 1-0-15 would win out over a team at 15-1.

Everything is true except that small bit of nonsense about a seven game rookie being a bust.  Be a more knowledgeable fan than that please.

Half games works just fine in our situation.

    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
    • They will still be a playoff team but they aren't contenders anymore IMO. They won't be able to spend like they have when they went to a SB and proved he couldn't carry a win at that level with a really good team around him. Now he is going to have to do it with less to spend around him. They just locked in to being a playoff bound team that's going to be a known speed bump for whoever will represent the NFC in the SB.
    • Hmm. I think he'll live up to it. Last year, about half of his team was on IR it seems, at one time or another. Year before, Super Bowl appearance. Year before that, playoff run after being third on the depth chart and being pressed into service. Is he one of the greatest in the game right now? Nope. No chance of that. Is he in the top 10 going into next season? Pretty good chance of that.  Would 20 or more teams in this league love to have the guy as their starting QB. Most likely so. He's a good QB who can implement his coach's game plan to a T and has both the confidence of and confidence in his teammates. That'll take you a long way in this league if you've got the right cast around you, and he does.
