Doubt inside BofA Cam is the future?

I also think it's best for the team.

you gotta understand why Cam would be very upset though. This dude has carried the offense since he has been here.

NFL career can be cut short at any time. It's a tough situation for him to be in because you know he wants to win but you know he wants a once in a lifetime contract for complete financial security.

Gonna be a very, very interesting offseason. What we do know is Cam will be class regardless of what happens at least from an outside perspective.

do you know if Cam is aware of this and what they are trying to do? i'm wondering if he's pissed/ok with it/ect. it actually sounds like this is the best for the entire team.

sounds weird shula would take the demotion without any kind of weirdness. but he has to know he's not that good.

and dead money to stewart will be insane.

i believe you though.

I don't believe the Cam or RB'S thing. I could see the Shula thing.

i believe this dudes sources he has been on the money all offseason

Since Gettleman took over its definitely been all him. I think JR removed his input once he hired him cause Hurney under him crippled our team. Steve has no issues with JR and no way JR told Gettle to get rid of Steve. That was all Gettle. Hearing Steve say the things he said Gettle said, that was definitely a personal issue between those two. The things rumored about Gross was definitely between him and Gettle. I fault JR for a lot of other things, but these decisions made regarding the team is all on management

i believe the Cam thing simply because it gives us more time to get our financial poo in order. Not so much they don't believe he is the franchise.

but Luke's would be that year or the next. Does luke even have a 5th year option?

If ya'll have All-Pro access go read the cap management thread. It breaks poo down very easy to show just how fuging AWFUL our situation is. It's downright scary.

No idea if Cam knows/is ok. For all i know myself it's just a rumor, although it's from the same dude that has told me some very informative things before.

And yeah, that Stewart dead money will be ridiculous.

You are right but I think he will be making decent money from the fifth year option and being tagged. It gives him good money without the long term commitment while we try to figure things out.

The Cam thing makes sense in the context that JR would call the shot ultimately... And it would just verify that he needs to stop being like the Jerry down in Dallas and let the guy he hired to be GM do his GM thing.

RB thing I believe close to 100%. I was told that with emphasis. Regardless, D-Will is gone.

And that is why I get pissed at everyone on here going full retard about how Gettleman is sabotaging the team because he didn't throw money at random O-Lineman this offseason.

All first round picks have the fifth year option.

Oh I think Dwill is gone to. But Stew dead money is stupid next year. No way they can cut him.

The Cam thing is different. I can see them waiting to get the Salary cap right. But having no faith in him is the part I don't agree or believe. He has already proven his worth on the field. And Business wise he is a money generating machine for this organization. He is easily the most marketable player this team has ever had.

Cam Newton has the skill set to be a franchise QB.However,i believe he simply has flawed coaching phlosophies incorporated into him that undermines his particular type of skill set all in while stunting his growth and confidence.for whatever reason this coaching staff refuses to not properly utilize or play to his strengths?so if,he in fact decides too walk.well look for a team that takes advantage of his excellent mobility and a cannon for an arm to be the most likely suitors,WCO,imo.

    • He has a lot to work on for sure but he has been a huge boost to the offense. It's nice to finally have an elite WR.
    • We have been on that roller coaster ride already. He needs to have streaks far longer than a couple of good games.  People raved about the Green Bay game in 2023. Which was mostly a good 2nd half and hot 4th quarter.  Ask me what happened the next four games, if you don’t remember. or just go look them up. There isn’t much to see.  The end of last year had some good things and one excellent outing, and look up what followed that, which you won’t have to but he came out this year looking like week 1 2023.  Now he is on a game and a half streak, against a bad Miami team and lowest rated defense in the league - at home.  This is the reality in the big picture. He needs to break his pattern, in a positive way.
    • This "noodle arm" characterization just baffles me. There's way more involved in a successful downfield passing attack than simple air yards. Let's take two stat-lines for throws of 40+ air yards (no YAC) from the last 3 seasons: 5/29 (17%) for 3 TDs and 2 INTs 1/9 (11%) for 1 TD So with three times the number of attempts, you net +6% completion percentage, the same TD rate, and 2 arm punt INTs to boot. The first player is Mahomes, the second is Bryce. Clearly Bryce attempts these throws at a much lower rate, but his success rate is quite similar to one of the most talented downfield throwers of all time. The takeaway isn't that Bryce is Mahomes-lite (if he was his usage rate for these would be much higher) but that these throws by their very nature are extremely difficult, very scheme-specific, and even an elite thrower can have wildly differing success rates season by season. And before we get into the complaints of cherry-picking, this is far more substantial information than the various insinuations that Bryce struggles to even get the ball 20 yards downfield, much less 40+. And the wildest part of this is that every time Mahomes threw a bomb over the last 3 season, 83% of the time the end result was failure, yet many Chiefs fans complain that he isn't taking even more shots downfield.
