Official Panthers - Falcons Gameday Thread

Every coach in the nfl would play for the FG in that scenario. Only thing is that all of the idiots in here don't know that.

It's not the field goal that people hate. It's the fact that Ron left 1:30 on the game clock and made Gano kick a long field goal.

Then I say you don't understand the point I am making at all. If he missing the FG lost that game, then what about the other FGs he made during the game? Your logic makes no sense. Losing the game as a whole is not on one moment or player, but a combination of many things. That is how the game works, that is how it is won or lost. As a whole, the coaching staff failed to let the offense win the game. Even before the end of the game, the play calling on 3rd and short was horrible. Then at the end when the offenisve momentum was in our favor , the coaches shut it down. If you want to put that on Gano instead of the coaching staff, you are more than welcome, but it is illogical to do so.

I understand that you are basing all of your knowledge of today's game on the strength of Thom Brennamen's commentating prowess, but on every one of those third and shorts there were multiple receivers running crossing routes 6 yards downfield.

Cam Newton makes the decision to throw 20 yard bombs on 3rd and 4, not Ron Rivera, and not Mike Shula.

People act like Shula is calling trips vertical routes on 3rd and short. He's not.

Cam put us in position to win no matter what you say. The only reason we had a chance to win at the in was Cam.

Blame him for the 1st 3 quarters all you want but he got us back in that game.

We were only in that position of needing heroics because the offense sucked ass 75% of the day.

The defense was the one that put this team on their backs for the entire game. If they had played anywhere near as bad as cam and the offense, we would have lost by 40

As they should, but they would have made them burn timeouts gotten the first and then kicked with no time left. Easier, higher percentage kick. Also would have left no time for Matt Ryan to win the game. Its not what he did but howhe did it, a shitty losing philosophy.

And some games that happens.

The great Andrew Luck gets down 30 points in the playoffs throwing 3 int's. But he gets the credit for bringing his team back. Cam should get the same here.

Every coach will play for a shorter fuging FG try. .

Playing to set up A 46 yarder isn't a smart play.

Every coach would run the ball three times in that scenario....we were well within gano's range. Gano had plenty of leg on that kick...he just drew the ball a little too much.

Dropping back to pass at that point could have easily led to a sack (taking you out of FG range) or an int (which ends the game). No coach would throw in that situation.

Just because idiots like you can't understand or comprehend that does not make it any less true.

The defense kept us in the Game. Cam gave us a chance to win it.

I don't give Luck any credit for those. Said many times that he was the one that put his team in those situations.

Not sure why cam and the offense gets into those long funks like today. Like I said, we are in a death spiral just waiting for the next bad thing to happen in a game. When that happens...changes in the coaching staff are in order,

I still have long term faith in Cam...but he us not playing well now.
