4-year totals

32-32 W/L, 0-2 playoffs, 2x Pro Bowler

27-30-1 W/L, 0-1 playoffs, 2x Pro Bowler

60% Cmp, 82.6 Rtg

16,049 Yd, 106 TD, 63 turnovers

Peyton Manning was trash after 4 years. I mean, even Cam Newton has outplayed him through 4 seasons. Not to mention Peyton was considered a polished player having played 4 years at TN. Cam, meanwhile, entered the league an inexperienced, raw player. I wonder if Indy fans were calling for Peyton to be replaced and trashing him constantly.

Peyton's HC was shít canned after his 4th season and replaced by Tony Dungy. It didn't help though, Peyton sucked again in his 5th season. 26 years old with 9 years of SEC/NFL experience and he was still a mediocre QB.

5th year

Regular Season (10-6 W/L)

29 TD, 20 turnovers, 88.6 Rtg

Playoffs (lost 41-0 @ NYJ)

13-31, 137 Yd, 0 TD, 2 Int

Could you guys please explain what salvaged Peyton Manning's terrible, floundering career? I mean, he was hot garbage through 5 seasons. He'd already gotten one HC fired, had nearly as many turnovers as touchdowns, and was coming off one of the worst playoff performances in NFL history.

What convinced Indy to stick with their struggling, mediocre QB? I mean, I'm sure Indy fans were damn near ready to charge the stadium with pitchforks and demand a change.

Being white does have something to do with it, I mean, the Panthers are in the thick of Nascar country. I've seen Panthers fans question Cam's intelligence over and over again. They want Derek Anderson to START for Christ's sake.

You basically just stated that NASCAR fans are racist. Sorry, that's cheap and bigoted. Your statement is no different than people who make comments about Cam's skin color.

Cam threw balls where they needed to go today. Anyone who booed at the stadium, shame on you. Sitting in the endzone on the upper deck gives you a vantage point you don't get at the fifty. The "overthrows" were not missed, cam threw it there in an effort to only give our guys a shot. Sure he missed a few throws but the others were because it was his only option.

On that note, Fozzy and Stew should be our number one and two backs. Both make plays that aren't there while Dwill just hits a wall.

How admirable of you to leave out Peyton's horrible 3 win, 28 Int season. Or that he led the NFL in turnovers his first 4 seasons. That's cherry picking at it's finest. Don't even try to act like Peyton showed improvement and continued to develop each season. He didn't. He regressed.

He was beyond terrible...

Yr 1- 26 TD, 28 Int, 71.2 Rtg

Then he improved...

Yr 2- 26 TD, 15 Int, 90.7 Rtg

Yr 3- 33 TD, 15 Int, 94.7 Rtg

Then he regressed back to sucking...

Yr 4- 26 TD, 23 Int, 84.1 Rtg

Yr 5- 27 TD, 19 Int, 88.1 Rtg

Peyton Manning did not become an elite or even consistent QB until his 6th season in the NFL. He didn't even win a playoff game until his 6th season. At that point he had 10 years of experience between the SEC & NFL. Cam doesn't even have half that experience and people are crying bloody murder about how terrible he is.

Variance. Helter skelter. Fits and starts.

That is QB development process.

People these days don't have the patience to let these things play out. It isn't just Peyton. It is the vast majority of young QBs. You don't see their stats stabilize until about year 6. Until then it is up and down game to game and season to season.

The kid is still learning. No one should be expecting him to carry a team at this point

Nope! That Andrew Luck fella is only in his 3rd year and he's already an MVP caliber QB. He's already a top 5 elite QB and proving he's the future of the NFL. Wait, never mind. Shít.

Luck vs AFC South (JAX, TEN, HOU)

3-0 W/L, 69% Cmp, 11 TD, 2 Int, 120.5 Rtg

Luck vs Rest of NFL

3-4 W/L, 61% Cmp, 17 TD, 8 Int, 91.4 Rtg

Luck is a great young QB, not saying otherwise. Point is, he's still not anywhere near close to being elite either. He'll get there eventually but right now he's vastly overrated. The media has brainwashed fans into thinking he's already a superstar. He's not. He's wildly inconsistent and for the most parts pads his stats against inferior competition. It's all about perception, though. Manning & Luck were touted as HOFers & all-time greats before they ever took a snap. No matter how good or bad they play, they've always been considered great QBs. Cam Newton, however, was labeled a risky player and probable bust. No matter what he does people are gonna bash him. It's all about perception.
