WR or OT

You don't pass up an elite player for a need. That's a very quick way to becoming a mediocre football team.

you don't, I would in a heart beat to stop this bleeding . We are  years behind our needs because we didn't draft for need.you assume you cannot get both .

You say that now, but do a little time travel to 2007. The Raiders Needed a QB and took Jamarcus Russell. The pick behind him. Calvin Johnson went #2 to the Lions. The Raiders passed on one of the greatest WR's of all time for a Bust of a QB, because well you know, they needed a QB more. It should always, ALWAYS be BPA.

By the way Amari Cooper is being compared to AJ Green and Julio Jones.

Not the best example. Hindsight and all.

Calvin only went to the Lions because of Millen being a buffon. You can cherry pick every draft for the last 30 years if you want.

If Cooper falls to us but we do nothing about the o line. It means little.

Teams go bpa and hope and roll the dice it works.

The Panthers have enough obvious holes that they need to address.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree.   Its not every year you have a chance to draft a player of Cooper's value.  I don't see any OT's that blow my socks off.  Granted we need OL BAD!!!!  But I am against reaching.  This OL guy that you want to draft based on need,  better be Jackie Slater or Anthony Munoz good, because we can get a ok to good lineman in the second round.  It is highly unlikely that we get a game changer of Amari Coopers value in the second.

i highly doubt he'll go #1 overall and we'll probably be picking in the top 5

Not sure about either one of those statements. A Raiders fan friend of mine said he hopes they take him. And we're still 1.5 games out of the top 5 with 4 to play. Those 5 would need to win at least two and we'd have to lose out. Long shot.

Truly does suck the Giants won today since they also need OL. With the Titans, Redskins, and Rams coming up hopefully they can still win a couple and we may be able to get into the top 6/7.

No I agree with ya about talent at wr vs ol this year.

Cooper being available makes this easy imo. He can be both the bpa and a player of need which we so need help at wr.

But you better get an ot on rd 2 or it's the same song different dance in 2015.

I think we pick between 5-12.

Really hoping we get to pick 4 or 5.  I can feel the Amari Hype Train taking off and I doubt that he will not be there at our current pick which is #8.

    • I don't follow the NBA but I think that kid has a lot of upside. Really good athlete for his size.
    • I truly don't see how they could be any worse than last season. Having a rookie head coach isn't always great but he seems to care much more than Frank ever did and appears to actually put forth effort while also having some sort of desire to improve so that in itself should help them exceed expectations.
    • I literally said in my other post that we still deserve criticism, so what are you talking about?  Do you even know what my initial post was about?  Never once did I say it was okay to draft a bust because other teams draft busts. Mods, feel free to put me in my place if I'm going too far.  But it needs to be said. Some of you need to start reading posts in full instead of making it about Bryce every single damn time.  Ultimately my point was that drafting QBs is hard, and if it wasn't the Panthers mistake, it would have been another teams.  Just like Trey Lance, just like Mac Jones, just like Blake Bortles, just like Blaine Gabbert,... I can go on and on.   Yes, Panthers screwed up (assuming Bryce doesn't improve).  Yes, we should be criticized.  But it happens.  The guy asked how it happens and I was just answering his question.  That teams miss on QBs every year, because getting a QB is hard and teams will take every opportunity they can to get one.  But I'm not about to sit and discuss this with someone who thinks Levis even had .001% chance of going ahead of Bryce.  That tells me all I need to know.  No reasonable person would even throw him in the discussion.
