Clinging to this as a philosophy when it doesn't work is a horrible idea. We couldn't move the ball for poo when we've tried that so far this year, because we can't run. We only had success at all against Detroit with a fast paced, quick route, efficient offense. It was very much the same for a lot of games last year, including the few games the offense sputtered out at the end of the year, including the playoffs, when we stubbornly and ignorantly refused to adjust out of it.

Cam has performed poorly, no doubt. But so has pretty much everyone else, especially the coaching staff. I can't really call out one guy over another when the entire team has been a train wreck. I think the FO set the precedent back in week 2 folding to a little public pressure. I said back then we deserve to los and thats what we have been doing. Until the staff is replaced, I have no clue who our guys of the future are.

Is that what you want recognition for being right? Sure guy here's your pat on the back. Haha c'mon man grow up. That offense was working for a time because our defense was amazing. Now that our defense sucks it exposes our offensive scheme for what it really is. So in short I wasn't a fan of the offenseive scheme but I tolerated it because it was working and we were winning games. But congrats on being right your foresight really is invaluable.

There are games, or moments in games when Cam has a clean pocket and open receivers and he isn't making the most of those moments. He isn't rising to the occasion. We can handicap him with the personnel and coaching and all of that is true. But if you ask the question "could he have done more with this situation?". The answer is yes in my opinion.

 

There is the leadership angle too. Steve was let go so the team could be handed to Cam. He hasn't stepped up. This team does not have strong leaders based on the efforts we have seen this year. Cam in my opinion checked out weeks ago and that bothers me.

 

Still I'm not in the camp that he is a bad player or a bad guy. But I won't sit here and make excuses because he is an active participant in the sucking this year.
