Listen, I get it: it looks cool, it's got a cool name (Rally Towel aka Growl Towel), BUT they don't change the game. Definitely agree. Every game I go to I take the folding part of the seat in front of me and make as much noise as I can with it.

Maybe you're into something. Wouldn't it be awesome for a visiting team to practice all week with the speakers blasting to prep for stadium noise and then come game time....crickets. Would take a superhuman effort by all in the fan base but it would be hilarious and might mess with their minds. Especially if you could go back to crazy screaming after the half.

There's actually a university that does that at one of their basketball games every year.  It's called Silent Night, and they all stay deathly quiet until the 10th point is scored by their team, and then they erupt.

Personally, I think the whole "towel" schtick is stupid. Don't want one. Don't need one. Pittsburgh can have that silly tradition.

Agreed. My point is that spinning a towel might look cool for TV cameras but to be a factor in the game fans have to make noise. Yelling is one way, but when you add that to 70k fans slamming seats and clapping that adds to it and can be MUCH louder.

There's a young QB starting his 4th game (1st playoff game). We can affect the game with noise.
