add the rams to that list.  they've had an absolute embarrassment of riches at the top of the draft and have done jack outside of fielding a tough defense.

all these crap teams have the high picks year after year but they always suck.  it's not a coincidence and drafting well isn't just a matter of putting on a blindfold and throwing a dart at mel kiper's big board.

Exactly.

Playoff experience > better draft pick

I agree.  I was definitely very vocal about just playing for draft position and cleaning out the Rivera house.  I now understand how important getting Cam and the team their first playoff win, and playing a very competitive game on the road in Seattle against the champs was.  This experience was greater than a high draft pick and will mean more to Cam and the teams development than a high pick.

agreed, playoff experience is a great thing to have. if we had a little more on this team who knows what could have happened?

bLAH. bLAH!! As much effort as we put into not being sucky as a team we will be still be sucky until the team produces!! Tonight sucked.. it was a statement and we failed..we stilll suck.. so live up to it!!

Your team played a great game and had a good scheme against us; they were in it until almost the end (I was on the edge of my seat, or pacing the room, until the Chancellor pick 6). As someone posted in another thread, your team reminds me of mine, back in 2011. Your D is stout and Cam has the tools to be a game changer; he just needs to spend more time in the film room. Russell is undersized so he's constantly looking for an edge which he finds in the film room.

Oh, and I'll trade you any WR for Kelvin Benjamin, that dude has IT.

If you would trade a division title and a playoff win for a slightly better draft position, fug you. These last six weeks were special and I'll take success over failure any day of the week.

What's being missed?

Would you rather have the Panthers miss the playoffs, if it gets Ron Rivera and staff fired, rather than make the playoffs and retain them?

What would the 49ers have looked like the past several years, if Singletary was able to retain his job by making the playoffs, instead of having them clean house and bringing in Harbaugh since he sucked?

That's the difference.

Yea, luckily I think this year has a good crop of OTs for how our season panned out.  No stars that are locks to go top 5 but a good number of guys that will be a good value in the 20s.  Hopefully we get the best one.  It seems like a bottom-of-the-first-heavy draft for OTs and that works out perfectly for us.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
