Max Henson has Trai Turner with nice, descriptive quote on Norwell

top dawg

Max Henson wrote a piece on our rookie interior linemen's budding relationship---on and off the field, actually---and Trai Turner gave a pretty nice quote on his friend, Andrew Norwell.

"Every play is 100 percent nasty with Andrew. And I thought I was physical," Turner said with a laugh. "That's something I want to add into my game. I had my plays, but with him it's every play. I love that, man. He pumps me up."

I remember at least a few on here touting Turner's nastiness when he was drafted.  Well apparently some of us didn't quite know the true meaning of what "nasty" is---Turner included---until Norwell hit the field.  There is obviously a distinction between "physical" and "nasty".  Here's hoping to the evolution of both---the terms and how they relate our O-line, and Turner and Norwell.

The chemistry and respect between the linemen began to show late in the season.  The interior of the line is in good hands with Turner and Norwell for years to come.

I'm excited about the 2015 class and training camp. Could be one or two more guys like that coming in.

If you tried to take any bias out of it where do you think we rank in teams most likely to win it all next year? I'd honestly have to think we're top 5. Obviously everything depends on FA and the draft and all of next season, but I'm curious as to where you think we're at as of right now.

If I'm being impartial I would say maybe 10ish right now. Offensive coaching and scheme still a big issue until proven otherwise.

True, and top 5 is probably too high. I was just so excited with how the season ended. For the most part our offense moved the ball pretty well since our o-line got settled in and didn't change for the last 6 games. And all the young guys stepping up, we won't be losing any important players at all to FA, and with Gettleman I can't see us getting less than 5 rookie contributors. It was actually our offense that was keeping us in the Seattle game.... And cap space opening up. I just can't wait until FA, the draft, OTAs, TC, preseason then regular season.

Having a story like this on site is a good sign that these guys will be the starters next season.

Can't wait for mini camp in May when we all get a glimpse of the starting offensive line for the first time.

If the names Chandler and Amini are in it, I fear for the Huddle server.

Turner and Norwell were the bright spots from this past season.  Love their attitudes and both really young and can be cornerstones for the next decade.

Here's hoping we can add a beast of a LT in the draft.

    • Hello there.  We are rolling out a complete overhaul of the Huddle. Why: Frankly this site is so old the database and antiquated software has gotten unmanageable. There is not much we can do to fix anything anymore. The new site is wired for the future including getting back in the app stores.    When:  Hopefully by early July so that we can test and recover things. After the migrations we will still have access to the old site behind the scenes to bring over anything we missed.    Wait, will I lose anything?  We are only bringing over topics and posts from the past calendar year. The tinderbox is being set on fire and rolled off a cliff. All it ever did was made this place feel horrible all while changing approximately 0 minds in 20 years.  The new site will only have 4 forums to keep this joint Carolina team sports focused. Panthers, Hornets, Charlotte FC, Hurricanes.    Improved Moderation  This is a clean slate for us, as such if you are a problematic member (you know who you are) that enjoys getting banned and coming back, we aim to make it much more difficult for you. However, upon the move your slate is clean. Take advantage of it.  We would love to get this place back to what it used to be. Nice folks with friendly banter centered around Carolina sports. We will be using the BAN HAMMER liberally to rid this place of people who aren't interested in that or try to drag the new site back into the gutter.   New Features With new tech comes new features we will be rolling out over the rest of the year.    What about the damn ads?  Fewer and less problematic ads. Again, new tech allows for this. Without ads this place gets shut down.    What if I can't login?  If you can't login due to not being able to reset your password from the login screen, email [email protected] with your username and we will get you squared away.    Let me know if you have any specific questions.
