What is your average monthly grocery bill?

Ranging from $600-700 a month for our family of 5, but that includes all household supplies (cat food, cleaning stuff, cosmetics, etc.), diapers for 2 kids and formula for our infant.

Before kids and a house, the 2 of us were around $300-$350 a month.

For a family of 4 i try to get it to 400 but not always.

I think most people overspend in this category and a few tweaks could save a crazy ton of money.

520 for two? Wow.

Honestly, mine is quite a bit higher than that just for the two of us, if I had to guess.

I cook very good food though, and drink expensive beer and wine.

ya...probably close to a grand per month here too...three of us full time in the house but between my older daughter and her boyfriend coming over and my other daughter's friends...it never goes as far as you think it would!

we buy a side of beef from a friend every year...so that really helps the monthly bills.

I would say at least about $350 a month for 2 of us plus my daughter 3 days a week.

What pisses me off is I can't seem to stop at a grocery store for bread, milk and a 6 pack of beer without walking out spending $75. Groceries skyrocketed due to "high gas prices" but they sure as Hell didn't decrease at all when gas prices fell.

I'm going to start hunting, raising pigs and cattle, and making my own beer. Fug a Harris Teeter!

check out options for buying beef direct from the rancher...way cheaper and typically way better meat as well.

I bought a few cuts awhile back from a rancher and they advertised 100% all natural, grass fed, organic and all that other healthy stuff and to be honest it was terrible. I think I like my beef stuffed with hormones. (there is a joke in that statement somewhere I am sure)

I may need to try again with another local place. Do they usually butcher meat also?

ya...not going to touch that one!!!

I buy mine direct from the rancher....she sends it to their butcher of choice and I just tell the butcher what I want down with it.  We've been buying from these guys for a few years now and they are fantastic...non certified organic.  Cuts with a fork!!  it's fricken delicious is what I'm saying...and cut thick...mmm mmm good

oh...sorry...what were we talking about again?

Check out the Peach Stand in Ft. Mill.

You can buy food plans from them and they have good meats that are local and healthy.

    • There is a Grand Canyon-sized chasm between your opinion and the opinions of most former player hockey guys who do this for a living.
    • I can only imagine the **** eating grins on the committee right now. "Oh, Bama didn't deserve it? Oh, Miami didn't deserve it? Suck it, haters!" lol
    • To say that, is gaslighting, because it isn’t true. I mean, maybe one or two people do that but it isn’t the predominant behavior. Even Frank has given him credit. I think particularly the Rams game. A couple of glowing posts.   I know I have. Gotta be honest about it because if you aren’t it undermines what else you say.  But the degree of how far I go with credit, in terms of it being a projection of future performance? Not very far. Acknowledge it, but require more of it. There is a lot of bad play to offset.    I tried to remain passive while the last 9 games (post ankle injury) played out. It is just really hard when the lows won’t go away. I failed. As high as a couple of those highs were, there isn’t enough.    I know it is premature to just say I want to move on, made my decision after 6 of those games ended up pretty much really good or not good enough, but I have had enough of being patient and letting him show the reality either way.  So in my view, he Could still validate himself to a decent degree if he smokes the last three starts. But also in my view I don’t expect to see it. Maybe one more high quality start, would be my expectation. So yes he could still somehow justify having the job next year. If that happened I still wouldn’t have much faith given the last three years and all that has transpired. Again, there is a lot of bad play to offset.
