PFT points out a glaring fact about the fastest combine receivers

This year's TE class sucks. I wouldn't mind an upgrade at #2 TE, but I don't think this is the draft to do it.

I wouldn't mind a double dip at WR in the least. Give me one true WR and one WR/PR.

This class does suck. James will never be a receiving big threat but situational threat.

If we could draft Strong and Hardy, I would poo bricks for joy!

Strong would be an exceptional 2# WR as a compliment to KB and Hardy carving up defenses in the middle as a slot WR. One can dream!

It's a metric used to evaluate the totality of a player's physical abilities. The media just blows it out of proportion. I doubt teams base their decisions to draft a player based upon their 40yd dash time alone.

Only when it's crazy slow for a position.  When a LB runs 5.0+ or a WR runs 4.8+, etc.  That's when scouts come to the conclusion that a kid just isn't going to translate.

Wake Forest LB Jon Abbate comes to mind.  Crazy productive college player.  First team All-ACC, All-American honorable mention.  Considered by most to be a solid mid-round pick but a 5.0 flat 40 ended that.

That's why you judge prospects on game film and not how they perform at the combine. Someone like UGA's Chris Conley had insane combine numbers but I heard he was dropping a ton of balls.

That's true.  I don't believe that you can say that just because a guy is fast that he sucks. Sure, a lot of these guys are decidedly mediocre, but you can make a list of big guys that are mediocre as well. A few of the guys are still young into their careers, some haven't even began their career, and the list is missing a few notable names like Steve Smith, Desean Jackson, Mike Wallace and T.Y. Hilton.  And, we assume Stephen Hill sucks (and maybe he does), but he is still young.

Corey ran a 4.51.  22nd fastest WR 40 at the combine last year.  I've never gotten this talk about him being the Panthers' fastest player.  He's always looked quicker than fast to me.

It's all relative.  Philly looks like Usain Bolt compared to Jason Avant and Jerricho Cotchery.
