Panthers to meet with Perriman

Completely agree. He's the "combine champ", which is tatamount to winning the Free Agency Super Bowl. Guys like him always blow up, stock goes crazy, then they end up being so/so players in the NFL. I'm ok with them meeting with him, but I highly doubt he will be our pick.

Not so much. For those that have been following the draft prior to the combine, Perriman was being pegged as a late first/early-mid second round guy. This late surge to his stock is happening now because he wasn't able to participate at the combine due to injury and his pro day was recent. If he had participated at the combine he'd have been grouped in with Parker, DGB, and Strong since then. Instead, he could only run and participate at his pro day which was just a couple weeks back so obviously his stock is going to seem as if it sky-rocketed because of how recently he worked out and was officially timed and scouted. It doesn't seem odd to me that a suspected physical freak thought of as a late first/early second becomes a first round pick after he proves to be a physical freak at his pro day.

Devante Parker over Jaelen Strong

Jaelen Strong over DGB

DGB over Devin Funchess

Devin Funchess over Devin Smith

Devin Smith over Breshad Perriman

Breshad Perriman over Philip Dorsett

Philip Dorsett over the rest

Is this correct huddle?

Hard to compare different types of receivers. Each brings something different to the table and offers their own skill set. It's up to Gettleman to determine which of those skill sets fit our needs and our offense. We already have a better version of Funchess in Kelvin Benjamin. I for one want a burner that can stretch the field, break tackles, and pick up YAC.

Damn! I thought the Panthers had already crowned Jaelen Strong their favorite. What gives?

Oh, that's right, that workout thing that I was talking about between now and the draft.

Ah, it's nothing. Just a formality. Everyone knows that it's a smokescreen.

I mean, no way that Gettleman and company believe in competition.

SMH

    • It appears that he sees things differently than the QB and OC, so Cam's advice is spot on. It isn't about number of targets, it's about quality of targets. Trust and being on the same page. BY doesn't know how to anticipate what XL is doing. And XL doesn't like where BY is placing passes. One on one film study would go a long way. More for BY than XL though. He has to adjust to XL. I really don't think XL can adjust on the fly.
    • If the team shows improvement, then he shouldn't be in danger of losing his job - even if the record doesn't reflect. This was a very young team (with a lot of new vet starters) that overperformed last season. Somebody's doing something right. Consistency is key with so much youth. And we're potentially looking at new starters at ILB and FS. Those are positions that take time to fully understand the defense. ILB calls the front 7. Safety calls the back 4. Injuries at WR and IOL killed the offense last season. Depth needs to be upgraded. Same with Edge. I think they would have won more games if Pat Jones doesn't go down early. Be smart with the roster and draft. Trade players for assets when it's time to pay them more than they're worth - yes, that includes BY if he doesn't make a pretty big jump. That's one of the many reasons Tillis is as important as anyone to the future of this team.
    • He had heart surgery a while back he looks Fraile I hope he is okay
