DeVante Parker scheduled to visit Panthers

Nice. Met with him at his Pro Day as well. Zero to slim chance he is there at 25. Maybe a target in the rumored 16-20 range if he slips which I doubt as well.

If I had to make an educated guess, it's pretty safe to assume that atleast 24 players won't be avaliable when we pick at 25.

I know this is a deep WR class, but IMO Cooper, White, Parker, and Strong are the clear cream of the crop.  After you get past those four, everyone has serious concerns.  Hands, level of competition, whatever. I'd feel very comfortable with either Parker or Strong in the 1st.

With the two 5th round compensatory picks in pocket, I could see us potentially trading up a few spots if the right guy begins to slip.  Compensatory picks can't be traded, but it can make you feel a little more comfortable with parting with other picks.

Not sure about trading up into the 16-20 range though.  That would get rather costly.  It would probably take our 1st and 2nd round picks to get up to 16.  1st and 3rd could potentially get us up to 20.  1st and 4th could potentially bump us up a couple of spots if need be to secure the guy we really want.

I could see us trading up to 22 to get ahead of the Lions if there is an OT Gettleman really likes. They have a pretty big need there and the Steelers are usually amenable to trading down. Our 1st and 4th is probably close to enough in value to make the deal, maybe toss in the 6th or 7th if he has to.

Cleveland had to give up a 1st and 3rd to get from 26 to 22 last year though so that could potentially stall a deal.

Damn, I forgot the Browns actually traded up to get Manziel.  They did the same thing with Brady Quinn back in '07.  It's safe to say that if the Browns trade into the #22 overall spot, they're gonna take a QB and he's gonna be a bust.  Brett Hundley, where you at?  LOL!

    • It appears that he sees things differently than the QB and OC, so Cam's advice is spot on. It isn't about number of targets, it's about quality of targets. Trust and being on the same page. BY doesn't know how to anticipate what XL is doing. And XL doesn't like where BY is placing passes. One on one film study would go a long way. More for BY than XL though. He has to adjust to XL. I really don't think XL can adjust on the fly.
    • If the team shows improvement, then he shouldn't be in danger of losing his job - even if the record doesn't reflect. This was a very young team (with a lot of new vet starters) that overperformed last season. Somebody's doing something right. Consistency is key with so much youth. And we're potentially looking at new starters at ILB and FS. Those are positions that take time to fully understand the defense. ILB calls the front 7. Safety calls the back 4. Injuries at WR and IOL killed the offense last season. Depth needs to be upgraded. Same with Edge. I think they would have won more games if Pat Jones doesn't go down early. Be smart with the roster and draft. Trade players for assets when it's time to pay them more than they're worth - yes, that includes BY if he doesn't make a pretty big jump. That's one of the many reasons Tillis is as important as anyone to the future of this team.
    • He had heart surgery a while back he looks Fraile I hope he is okay
