Seahawks GM hints he'll just let Wilson walk if he doesn't lower his demanded price.

One of the reason the WR corps has to come back for the ball --

Wilson has few timing routes.  they never know when he is going to throw it, run it, scramble, etc.  Watch how early they look back for the ball.  That slows you down and allows DBs to recover.  He is a train wreck for WRs.

I would HATE to be one of his WRs.  HATE it, I say.

I certainly think Wilson is capable of being more than a game manager. His receiving corps gets poo on a lot, but they allow him to improvise. They *always* come back to the ball. Compare their receivers to, say, Cotchery in the divisional game, who sat at the top of his route and allowed Chancellor the pick six.

Wilson puts the ball where his receivers can get to it, so I don't mean to take anything away from him. But with Lynch (and therefore, the play action) not available, his limitations would shine. Improvising and and scrambling can only take you so far.

Well said.

Wilson's smart and certainly does certain things well.

However, if you remove him off that Seattle team (lets' say, place him on Cam's Rookie year Panthers), then his deficiencies would stick out more often like a sore thumb.

Actually, they already do. Many times when he scrambles around back there looking to throw his "Horse Shitz", is because he's not nearly as composed reading defenses as many believe, so many times can't see over, or react to the defense in order to throw the ball cleanly down field. Luckily for Wilson, he's not placed into those positions too often, thanks to Seattle's defense, playing calling, and/or their run game.

You're right. Wilson's not often placed in throw only situations repeatedly. And the few times he does, it's still usually off of a quick throw to a predetermined receiver. He's very rarely asked to survey the field in the pocket, then throw the ball across or down the field, especially in tight windows....Nope! Not at all.

They mask his deficiencies well over there (which is what good schemes and teams do for their players). Russell, just has more, and more glaring ones than most observers normally notice or would admit to.

AT least his WR's run/come back to the ball.

As much praise as Proehl gets here on the huddle, it's been a common problem with Panther receivers since Newton's been here, costing him several key interceptions over the years.

He sure turned it over in the NFCCG and SB. Just saying.

True but he also won a super bowl without any turnovers and he did have a historic comeback against Green Bay. He was one play away from winning another Super Bowl but his WR was picked off by a great defensive play causing an interception. It wasn't his fault his team lost.

Also name one QB who hasn't had a few multi INT games in the playoffs?

I hate Russell Wilson but he's a pretty good QB. He has a poor Offensive line and no great WR but yet does well in the passing game.

If your trying to say RW's stats are only good because he throws short quick passes then why did he lead the NFL postseason in yards per attempt and in the regular season was above average in yards per attempt?

We can try to say that certain players are only good because of certain players around them or schemes but it still don't change the fact that they are still successful in what they ate doing.

Be careful pointing that out. RG3 lead the league in that stat, and it was clear he threw a bunch, an assortment of LOS, beyond LOS, and short quick throws (mind you the high school offense they were running, and run game he relied on). So though it can mean something, that doesn't really mean anything when you actually can watch a player/team. And you have to keep in mind, Wilson/Seattle doesn't throw much either. They've been amongst the lowest attempts since his arrival in the league (not including the fact, the play action he gets off of having Lynch there).

I hear what you're saying. And I'm not saying myself Wilson's bad. I'm just pointing out the hype/what's being said, doesn't necessarily correlate with what he's asked to to on a regular basis on the field. That's all, the issue.

If we sign a QB to a 100 million deal, guess what, the QB pretty much has to be the offense. And we've seen that, outside of 2011, a Cam focused offense is below average. Cam has his strengths, but one of his weaknesses is that he just doesn't make players around him better like Rodgers or Brady or Peyton do. You'll never hear from Erick Decker or Julius Thomas again. Greg Jennings stock collapsed after leaving GB. And Brandon "Stone Hands" Lafell had a career year with Brady. Blame Shula or the world all you want, but it's an unfortunate reality about Cam. He can be a great cog of the offense, but he can't be the offense.

OMG I'm not going to keep going over this with you guys. Lafell had the same damn number averages with Cam the ONLY difference is Brady throws the ball like 200 more times. Lafell was the same player with more opportunities to catch passes in a pass heavy offense THATS all. The only good year Ginn has had in the league was because of Cam. Plus Cam has Shula, it's often the system that makes players better. Olsen was always a good player, but he's been a top 5 TE with Cam, he had TWO 1K wrs last year. Stop with this he doesn't make players better BS.

Yea lets moan because Cam hasn't turned a bunch of cast offs into All Pros, it's stupid.

Oh, that's what he's been  yapping about all this time? :startle:

I wasn't really paying attention.

You're right. How did the Panthers have such a good offense in 2011 and even 2012, along with winning 12-13 games in 2013?? It was cause of Newton's presence on offense.

Shula's the reason (and Cam's injuries last year) why haters want to jump on this silly band wagon now when they never could before.

The forum is ridiculous sometimes. I'm not a Wilson fan in the least. But everybody here tells how terrible he is. "Cam is a far more powerful and threatening athlete than Wilson" blah blah blah. Cam is also a better athlete than

Peyton Manning, Tom

Brady, Aaron Rodgers etc.

I LOVE Cam and I'll remain in his corner. But stop acting like Wilson is garbage. If he is a game manager, so what? He's made our amazing defense look silly on multiple occasions and he does what he is asked.

Cam > Wilson but Wilson is still a great QB

C Steve Wisniewski signed with the Jags today. Meaning, in all likelihood, that a rookie mid-late round center will be replacing their former Pro-Bowler in Unger. Star and KK should be licking their chops.

I sincerely do NOT see the trade making them a better team, at all.
