What's best for Cam

Recommended Posts

A defensive unit that can make all the hard stops and create turnovers with defensive scores will/can do just as much, if not more, than any offensive weapon. Taking pressure off Cam to make the big play allows him to play better.....the way he does in the first half of most games.

So stop with the "this doesn't help Cam" crap

Devin Smith would be nice, I think! Dave has proved several times I wouldn't make it as a talent evaluator!

Was reading some of last year 1st Rd draft grades and my god they were horrible! Went as far as Incomplete. Dave was an idiot for not taking Lee or Moses said most reviews. Kelvin could have been had in the second or third.

Getting DGB is about the only way they could make up for Thompson in the first lol. But seriously, no chance in hell.

IDC if he just got into a fist fight with his grandmother this morning if he's there...take him.

I know we won't however, given the identity of this org.

The Hardy situation didn't help things at all. Truly sucks if I ever thought we'd slowly grow out of that mold.

Really? What if he sees the field at a Gordon/Blackmon rate? He wouldn't be much help then. Would be a wasted pick

i haven't heard anything about an alcohol problem. The other two had addiction issues. There's a difference between "issues" or "problems" and "an incident".

Yep Same defense that lets him down when the game is on the line.

As long as we get some good offensive help it won't matter. Otherwise what's gonna fix the problems on offense last year? Two bad tackles, a depth WR, and a WR bust aren't improvements. I keep saying it. Look at the Jets, Bills, Rams, and Browns. Its not their defense that lets them down. Its the offense. Same problem mainly here ( Although our good defense did let us down quite a few times last year). We just have an actual quarterback.

However, there is no reason to panic. Lots of good players left to draft...

    • We need a Sam Off Ball Backer to pair with Lloyd. Lloyd is a strong Interior Will especially in Pass Coverage- but that is also Trevin Wallace’s archetype. Need a Rozeboom style run stopper. Rodriguez and Allen fit that
    • There aren’t that many ways to screw Day 2 up.  That’d be them making an obvious reach, or selecting at one of the few positions that we are pretty solid at. Because as excited as we are for the growth and improvement this team is showing, it’s still not an overly talented or deep roster. Honestly, there aren’t really many positions I’d feel bad about. Feelings about Bryce aside (because we are not going to select a QB), it’s really RB (bad positional value) and that’s it. I guess OT too since we grabbed Freeling in Round 1.    While not as high on my wish list as other spots, you can justify WR or TE.     Interior offensive lineman who would likely take over an interior spot either this year (at center) or guard (next for cap casualty of Hunt or Lewis)? Fine by me.   Dlineman? Yes, that’s a highly rotational position and we have zero quality depth.    ILB? Yep, could stand for an upgrade over Wallace.    EDGE? Absolutely wouldn’t hate another option to spell Phillips, Scourton, and Princely.    FS?  Would love to add better coverage skill set to the backend of the defense. Moehrig and Ransom are great in run support but not as good deep. Adding a more traditional FS would allow us to mix and match/run some 3 safety sub packages and or a big nickel type look with a SS down near the line for better run support in possible pass downs.    CB? Could stand to get better at nickel.
    • Sounds like Veesaar is entering the draft. He could always test the waters and pull out and return but without him our big men look like a serious liability. Better do something in the portal. If they don't do something about this portal madness my days as a college sports fan are probably numbered. This bullshit of having a nearly entirely new team every season is gonna get old fast.
