Has anyone here ever been skydiving?

One of the best indoor skydiving is down by Fayetteville. It's a lot cheaper to see if you like it. Try the accelerated free fall so you don't have some weird guy on your back

Thanks for the suggestion but I wanna do the real thing.  I wanna say I've jumped out of a plane.  Plus the point of doing that is if I like it I can get certified in a few years and do it myself from then on.

Me? Hell no.

My sister did though, and on her first jump she somehow managed to land on the roof of a police car

(you have to understand, my sister is one of those people that stuff you think only happens in the movies actually does happen to her in real life)

The real way to learn is jump school. 800', static line, no reserve. Actually don't do that

Yep - it was cool. Because you're traveling at a high rate of horizontal speed when you 'jump', you don't get that typical falling feeling in the pit of your stomach. Can't recommend any places since I'm here in KS, but the place we went to actually gave me an altimeter to wear and taught me to pull the ripcord myself.

I think I want to go this summer. Anyone know any good spots here in NC? If I like it enough I may seek to get certified in a few years.

skydive carolina. I've been twice.

Skydive Carolina. Know the owners. Dated one of their daughters.

Good place, decent price. Jumped from 14,500 altitude. (other places jump from 12,000). Tandem was about $200/person (I convinced 6 others to jump with me) - group discount.

Going back this summer and jumping solo.

    • no doubt but flip that.   The current system insures that there are "regional" games in the early weeks. maximizing the reach of playoff football.  If all of the WC weekend for a conference took place on the west coast they are reducing the "reach" of their hype machine.
    • Hard to say with London--he never ran--combine or pro day.  Here is what AI says, and it is always 100% accurate: Drake London's 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine was not recorded because he was dealing with a fractured ankle at the time. While he didn't participate in the 40 at the Combine or his pro day, his coach said his 40 time was estimated to be between 4.4 and 4.53 seconds. Some sources also list his 40 time at 4.58 and 4.6 seconds Unless you are running 9s all day, top end 40 speed is rarely reached.  I have always looked at the 3-cone drill.  At his pro day, TMac ran a 6.86--pretty good, actually.  For context, it is faster that Rome Odunze (6.88) who ran a 4.45 40.  Odunze is 6'3" and weighs 216, fwiw, and is considered a very good route runner with no wasted motion.  Mike Evans 3-cone was 7.08.  To put it in a broader context, through 2022, with all NFL prospect 3-cone drills combined, a 6.86 puts TMac in the.89th percentile-  Now consider the fact that he is 6'4" and 220.   We might have something here.  '
