Heads up: Gettleman on PFT Live at noon.

Recommended Posts

Dave Gettleman coming up after the break. And super randomly, they did a breakdown of the average percentage of salary cap of the last 15 superbowl winning quarterbacks. The result.....7%.

Would be much more interested in the median percentage and what percentage those QBs became in their next contract after winning the SB.

Median was 6.5%. And the following schedule would be skewed when comparing to Cam because it, of course, includes a Superb Owl win.

F: Cam said it changes nothing. Anything from team perspective?

G: Better set to plan for cash spending elsewhere

F: Doesn’t seem to be a huge cap spike coming up.

G: Very important to smooth cap out. Been a fly on the wall for many bad deals.

Agreed about Cam in the sense that he hasn't won, but not every quality QB wins a Super Bowl and not every SB-winning QB is top-tier. One could also argue that winning one could be an indicator of quality.

F: Where has roster improved the most this year?

G: All around. Depth at O-line, mentioned Remmers and bringing in Oher. Excited about WR position. Entioned KB, Brown, Cotch, Boykin, and getting Ginn back. Likes LB’s that they brought in.

True, but I think that it served more to show that a lot of teams that have won have done so because they had more money to invest elsewhere on the team.

I feel like Gettleman's complete non interest and tone in talkng about Kuechly's contract priority is telling.

He's never talked about contracts. Had the same non-interest and tone talking about Cam.
