So long story short, I had an off and on type thing with this chick for about 6 months that I pretty much told to screw off tonight for good.

Now I won't lie, I can be kind of a Mosby but for some reason, I can't find it in myself to feel bad about this.  The thing is though she never did anything wrong until tonight, wasn't crazy, and was great in bed.  So we hang out all day and tonight, then she brings me out claiming we were meeting up with some friends but it was actually a guy that is totally into her and his drunk friend.  Now, I don't beat around the bush, noticed there was obvious flirting going on, and from past experiences, I just don't put up with that sh*t.  It was one of those obvious things where she's doing the flirty touching and all that sh*t and it was me her, this guy and his drunk friend.

So, we stepped aside and I told her like it was and she didn't even give two sh*ts.  Told her I wasted my time thinking there could be something and blah blah and she simply didn't even give a sh*t.  Knowing myself, I should be feeling all bad but for some reason I don't.  It's weird.  I'm not even sad, but really just trying to wrap my head around why I wasted my time.  So my question: When do you think is a good time to step away from a fling when you see it's not going anywhere? Do you keep at it for the sex or step away with restraint early on?

F*ck.

Did she give you the "its not you, it's me" routine?

Pretty much.  It was the whole "I'm focusing on my job, let's keep it casual, but you can cum inside me for half a year" routine

I was dating outside out this chick but it finally hit the breaking point.

She wanted you to be assertive.

I thought so but when I tried, she was put off.  I just hate when they start to play games.  My philosophy: If you like someone, you like someone and you don't have to think about this type of crap.  Also, she really didn't seem like the type to do the whole "let's go out together but watch me flirt with other guys and we can screw later".  I've had that before, I'm not doing that again.

She wants to introduce you to cuckolding maybe?

You left at the right time. No need to drag that poo out.  She is obviously not the right one to be with. Pie for the How I Met Your Mother reference. You need to change your handle to Ted now.

haha well I do change it all the time. Might as well.

I was somewhat distraught last night but gotta say, I'm feeling happy about the decision this morning.  I feel kind of like a bitch for not trying to one-up this friend of hers but I just hate chicks who play games like that.  It felt like she set it up on purpose to see if I wanted something more and thus ending things.  Why can't they just be upfront dammit?

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
