Sorry if this has been discussed..

I saw this picture awhile ago, and thought it was interesting that KK was in this picture.  It made me think that our FO might view him as one of the key players on our team.  I have always loved KK's game..he is a great pass rushing DT.  I was talking to my dad recently and he made a comment about how he heard that the team has already discussed keeping KK over Star if they were forced to choose between the two.  He said Star didn't live up to expectations last year, which i had already heard..he finished strong though.

I was just wondering if anyone else thought his presence in this picture was interesting..?  I've always thought he was a great player, but i dont think anyone would think to put him in the same category of importance as the other players in this picture.

Thoughts?

Maybe Kalil.

I  think even Stewart or Tolbert wouldnt stand out as much to me.  Star even makes some sense since he was picked ahead of KK.  You have to wonder if that means anything.

I wouldn't read too much into it. Makes sense to have 4 defense and 3 offense in the picture since this team relies heavily on its D.

MAybe that was who already had their pads on when they decided to take the picture. Or that was the groupd that was sitting at the same table during lunch that they walked up to. Who knows? Probably not as much thought went into it, is all I am saying.

I know it's Bleacher Report, but Matt Miller's player rankings are interesting to look at:

Star: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2498386-br-nfl-1000-ranking-the-top-55-defensive-tackles-from-2014/page/36

KK: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2498386-br-nfl-1000-ranking-the-top-55-defensive-tackles-from-2014/page/46

He has Star ranked at 17 and KK at 7 as the best DTs in the league. It usually takes 3-4 years for DTs to come into their own. Star is asked to occupy double teams and clog space in the middle. He was a monster in our week 17 game vs the Falcons. We also missed his presence in the playoff loss vs the Seahawks because we had zero pass rush on Wilson.

Plus, if Star were to develop into an elite DT, we definitely would not be able to afford both Star and KK. I think we can afford to keep both though because 2016 will most likely be CJ's last year.

It seems like something that someone would/should have put some thought into.

So I shouldnt put too much thought into it...but you think someone else has put in enough thought to decide that because our team relies heavily on its D, there should be 4 defensive players and 3 offensive?

Wnat makes sense to me is that they would pick the most popular players or the team leaders.  Thats who usually makes it on these photos.   It's essentially an advertisement, and usually a good deal of thought goes into that.

It's a twitter header. I don't think the social media guy was skimming through Gettleman's manifesto of roster rankings for inspiration.

With our history of drafting d-lineman I see Gettleman taking Star's replacement next year. It pains me to say that because I think Star is really good but KK is on the verge of Kris Jenkins type dominance. We have to pinch the pennies somewhere and drafting high quality depth year in and year out is the way you do it.

That said I hope we can keep both.
