Atlanta's "the falcoholic" writer gives props to the Panthers.

lmao falcon fans in the comments thinking they're Super Bowl bound because their new coach coached the Seahawks defense.

1) the Falcons defense isn't even half as good as the Seahawks defense

2) Jag fans said the same thing with Gus, and look how that turned out

AND FOR FUGS SAKES. WHY IS IT EVERY TEAM IN OUR DIVISION SAYS WE SUCK BECAUSE WE WON OUR DIVISION WITH A SUB 500 RECORD? YOUR TEAM DIDNT EVEN WIN THE DIVISION WHEN IT WAS A RACE TO LITERALLY 7 WINS. SO IF OUR TEAM SUCKS YET IT WON THE DIVISION, WHAT DOES THAT MAKE YOUR TEAM? FUG THE MEDIA AND OUR RIVALS.

LMAO!!! Falcon fans say we suck because of this...

Yeah we have no safeties. Just one old man who picked off your QB and took it back for a 30 yard TD and then just some other young stud who also picked off your QB and ran it back 79 yards for a TD...all in the same game.

So delusional

Last year was everyone's last chance for awhile to get us.  And they got bulldozed.

It's almost sad, like the rest of the NFL, the Falcons have no clue of the curb stomping the Panthers are going to unleash this season.

All they see is the 7-8-1 result last season, and really believe we have made no improvements

Because of majority of the NFL media pundits are not giving Carolina much chance to win the NFCS this season. In their typical lazy journalistic style,  they look at the 7-8-1 record, and the fact that we didn't have any flashy FA signings while at the same time downplaying our draft picks as proof the Panthers regressed and will have a similar or worse record this season.

These same analysts and uninformed opposing fans have not taken a rational look as to why the Panthers struggled last season.

1. Cams health.

2. O-line play.

3. All new recieving corp.

4. Lack of offensive weapons.

5. Down to playing RB literally just signed off the streets.

6. Secondary play.

and so on....

All these factors no longer exist due to healing of injured players and positive roster changes.

Anyone thinking that they are going to see the same Panthers performance this season, are going to be sadly mistaken.

Gotta love those Falcon fans.

They point out our weaknesses and seem to have fixed all theirs with the signing of a new head coach.

I don't buy the well Smitty was fired already so we didn't play with heart.   The Panthers were coming into THEIR house with the division on the line.  And secondly any chance to prevent a division rival from going to the playoffs is more than enough motivation.

I do like the way he didn't even use injuries, Falcons' or ours, as an excuse for anything that happened last year. Because injuries are part of the game. All he does is point out the excellent depth we have given ourselves this year. The few that have talked up the Panthers point out Cam's health and o-line injuries from last year, giving themselves a CYA move.

Good point, and will be completely moot anyway since both teams will inevitably have some injuries in play when we do finally play in December.

Falcon fans are so delusional. Saying Cam is a RB that passes like they didn't have the prototype version of that in Michael Vick. But deep down, we all know they long for Cam.  Just like they longed for Big Money.

Let's see how far Matty ice cold can take them.  Enjoy being #2.. Which kinda works out perfect since you're building a giant asshole for a stadium.

    • Hello, soccer fans [crickets, tumbleweed flies by]. The World Cup kicks off in less than 2 weeks and, well, 🇺🇸USA USA USA🇺🇸 and all. We beat Senegal 3-2 yesterday in a tune-up friendly at BoA, with Christian Pulisic finally entering the scoring column.  How will we do in the World Cup once our tournament kicks off on the 12th? Well, there are 48 teams (assuming Iran is there) and it feels like one of two thing happens: we get grouped for the first time since '98, or we make it to the Round of 16 for the third time in the last four World Cups. I tried out the lottery for an Atlanta game and struck out, so yesterday was as World Cup as I'll get for in-person ($285/ticket for like Norway vs $39/ticket for USMNT right beforehand was a layup).  The U.S. has a travel-heavy schedule in group play, playing in LA, Seattle and LA. Real road warrior mentality being built. Glad the east coast gets worse kickoff times for a NA World Cup than a Qatar World Cup.
    • Well, that's the thing. Drafting players only for their physical measurables as you are suggesting only really happened during 2024, and X unfortunately has become the poster child for that. To be clear, it's not necessarily about drafting RAS over skill, but RAS over NFL-readiness and/or a solid body of work. Lots of players show skill in college, but those skills don't necessarily translate to the NFL for a multitude of reasons. But, getting back to the main point, to be clear, I believe that our FO is still enamored with physical gifts (who wouldn't be?), but now they're letting Dr. Eric Eager's proprietary system--his "secret sauce" prioritize the players that the Panthers draft, and it seems like it weighs not only a solid body of work, relative to a college career of course, but consistent gradual improvement as evidenced by production pretty highly.
    • Its a good article about how pathetically bad our past drafts ('23 and '24) have been. Building the team in '23 since we weren't ready yet and taking your qb in '24 made so much more sense in hindsight. Ladd McConkey over XL is pretty much a given but not sure it does as much to change Bryce's trajectory as the author suggests.  As bad as '23 and '24 drafts were, the '25 and '26 really give me hope.
