Further indictment against Tolbert

Love the guy but his run has ended here now that we hit on some young talent.  He's expendable.

I would keep him this season. We don't need cap space that bad. There will be injuries and Tolbert is a better football player than the scrap heap that will be out there during the season.

With our passing game looking depleted we need bullies on offense. Tolbert can bully linebackers and safeties when he is healthy.

Before the season started, so many people were excited to get Tolbert back. There was a stat that continued to be brought up about how we had a way better record with him on the field than without which led to many excited for his return this season. Now he's had a few bad preseason games and everyone is ready to jump ship?

Honestly I don't care what he does in the preseason. He's a veteran. He had a down year last season but we don't gain enough by cutting him, It's better to bet on him improving.

dont insult the infants like that man. they would have done a much better job at blocking than Bell did.

Now that we can agree on. I have a huge disdain for Brockel wasting a spot, him and Nate Chandler. These guys need to go way before Tolbert. 

^this. there is no place for these two on the roster. i hate it for them, but we have more pressing needs at other positions and plenty of depth at OL and TE. i lump Folkerts in this equation too. 

 

Most people  follow the bandwagon train in a heartbeat here, I bet if Tolbert is hot on 3rd preseason game, everyone will basically do 180.

The huddle actually seems split. In Zod's youth movement roster, looked like everyone on there was all for dumping him. When I made this thread to illustrate his decline started last year, most oppose the idea of dropping him.

Personally I have my doubts he will get cut. I just see him as being overpaid and no longer capable of doing what we ask of him. Some is his own decline, some is our o-line really was horrible at getting any push up the middle. The way I see it is regardless of why he's not performing up to his contract is not as important as the fact that he is not. 

 

Tolbert want get cut but the Brockel and Fozzy have higher chances.

Not necessarily disagreeing, but who is our backup center if Kalil goes down?  I thought Folkerts was filling that role.

If he could be a decent lead blocker, he would have some value but he doesn't do that very well either. He has a little value in the passing game.

Remmers has be taking snaps at center

As stated above Remmers took snaps under center. Chris Scott did as well against Miami and did not look as good as Remmers or Folkerts. So the only problem I see with dropping Folkerts ia what happens if Kalil and Remmers both go down? I didnt like what I saw of Scott at Center, so this may save Folkerts, may not.
