Seahawks are talking to teams about trading Kam Chancellor

A top notch defensive end might be worth trading for, even if we had to give up a first and a third.  But not a safety.  Our need at safety isn't that strong.

S is our biggest weakness outside WR.   Not saying we can afford Kam but we need help

I can't believe this is even a thought. It's not happening. Ever since KB went down, this board has slowly devolved into madness

you want to win and be a legit contender with a subpar offense?

have the best D in the NFL.

It still isn't happening.

I don't think it is either...

But no one here entering this season is talking about what utter poo we have at SS.  S is an issue.

It it be worth a decent draft pick if we didn't have to worry about giving him a big deal.  The big deal is the ONLY thing that makes it a bad idea....which is why it won't happen.  Big contract not factoring....it would be a home run move.  We lack player more than another DE to pair on our DL.

Kam is a LB playing SS. He's not as dominant without Thomas watching his back. Hence the term: Deathbacker. In addition, his style of play only guarantees one or two years of prime football before a sharp decline follows.

eh...I think he is very underrated.   He leaves Seattle watch that historic D the last 2 years take a big step back vs what they have been

I'd love to have him, but we have the same issue Seattle did. We have a ton of young talent on D that's going to have to get paid.  We have Luke, Star, KK, we have to make a decision on Norman.  Kam wants to get PAID.  If he wasn't trying to shoot the moon with this contract, I'd love to have him.  Then again, if he wasn't holding out, he wouldn't be available.

I think Kam is very good, but having Earl Thomas playing deep centerfield is what allows him to do what he does.  Not to mention the fact that those CBs handle their business too.  He's allowed to really freelance in that D.  Outside of that secondary, I think he gets exposed unless protected by a great front seven.

reason we have handicapped and hurt ourselves in the past is we cluster our talent and money in just a few positions....

IMO either we part with select guys are we end up back in that same pattern again soon IMO.
