Josh Norman...

Recommended Posts

The kid wants to be paid like a top CB....but I think he once again shows he is streaky/immature.  Not sure  what he is.

Lets review...

He had a HUGE Peanut-esque forced fumble.  His response? The moment he gets out of the pile he looses his cool and has to be hauled off and managed by teammates.

Later in the game he exhibits textbook early in his career horrible CB play on a corner ball to the end zone.  He looked completely helpless and clueless and should of had PI.  Bortles obviously recognized it and attacked him the next play for a TD.

Next drive for the Jags after the TD Bortles immediately targets Norman.  At this point his coverage play in the game has been subpar.....and Norman makes a great jump reading the QB and we get s pick 6.

so what is Norman? I don't think we really know.  We do know the kid is tremendously talented physically....I think he has a long way to go the paycheck he wants.

Dude had 5 tackles, 2 passes defensed, a forced fumble and recovery, and pick 6. What more do you want? Our D, sans Luke and Star, held them to 75 total yards in the 2nd half.

Just enjoy the win man, you're never gonna get a perfect game. JNo isn't perfect, but he's an above average CB, and by far the best CB on this team.

I keep hearing "if he gets called this" "if he gets called that".  There's nothing wrong with what he does.  Has he ever even gotten called for talking?  A lot of people, including some on the Panthers, seem to have too much of a problem with his jawing.  In neither of his "immature" moments today was he causing a problem.  If he starts getting penalized for jawing at the opponents, then he needs to be told to tone it down.  But until then, let the man get and stay in his groove how he needs to.

Now, did he give up a couple passes today?  Sure, that's part of the streakiness I won't dispute.  But for the past quite a few games his good streakiness has outweighed his bad streakiness by a lot.

Everyone wants to find the little pointless things to complain about. I don't understand why people are like this. I just sit back and enjoy the win. I don't care how we get it

only reason he doesn't get flagged is b/c his teammates have to manage him and yank his rearend out of scenarios...

jawing isn't an issue.  He loses his composure....so it just comes down to "when" his teammates don't get to him in time.

He's a great player but also a mental midget. He's a nearly 30 year old man that has to be babysat by Thomas and Roman seemingly every game because he acts like a child and does stupid poo.

I'm not sure you or any of us are in any position to question his mental aptitude.  He doesn't "have to be babysat by Thomas and Roman."  For whatever reason TD doesn't like Norman jawing.  It hasn't hurt us in the past, isn't gonna hurt us in the future.  TD just seems to have a problem with it/him and as long as it doesn't turn into a drama, TD has earned the right to do that if he wants.

that's quite some heavy speculation there being passed off as fact.  "Loses his composure"?  What exactly do you mean by this?  All I ever see is jawing.  I've never seen him take his helmet off and start swinging, bodyslamming people, or getting into fights.  All I've seen is him jawing, and then TD comes and gets in his ear about it.  "In time" for what? For Norman to complete his sentence?  Ok.

I'm sure you'll care when his childish shoving and jawing costs us a game.

Always looking at the negative. Talking about how he MIGHT cost us a game instead of how he basically sealed the win for us with a pick 6. smdh. His talking is part of who he is. I have no problem with what he did today, sure a couple mistakes but every player makes mistakes here and there.

My only point is this, this ain't Minority Report out there.  Trying to say it's only a matter of time, or he'd have unsportsmanlike conduct penalties if not for big brother TD yanking his ear and pulling him away is pure speculation and until he ACTUALLY gets in trouble for something it's unfair to assume he will.

edit: just looked it up.  this is his 4th year in the league and he's had ONE unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.  ONE.  Kuechly has been ejected once and had an unnecessary roughness once (similar penalties).  so I think people need to get off Norman's jock about this til it actually becomes a problem.
