I agree, he's someone we need to sign for the long term. Hopefully it can be something that will work out equitably between him and the team. We've got a lot of money tied up in Cam and Luke (rightfully so), but would $4 to $5 million a year be enough?

I highly doubt it.  I'm guessing a minimum of $10 million/year

Don't balk at the fact the critic called him possibly the most valuable member of our defense.  For all those shouting "what about Luke?".  Remember he said "valuable" not "best".  Right now we are getting the most bank for the buck out of him over any other player on our defense.

Are they willing to pay top money for a CB? Will Norman insist on a top 5 CB contract? Will he insist on being in the stratosphere with Revis? Will his bargain (for the Panthers) 5th round contract money figure into his contract demands? I guess we'll find out.

he probably wants double that. and if he ends the year the way he started, he could want higher.

The franchise tag may be in Josh's future if he continues to play at this level. We've already seen Gettleman use an expensive tag on Hardy, and a defensive player of Josh's caliber does not come around often.

Right now, Josh is playing like a top five cornerback. He will probably be looking for top five cornerback money, and we shouldn't fault him for that. We can only hope he'll take a somewhat lesser contract with the "hometown discount" and chance to compete for a Super Bowl the next five years.

i think he has allowed something like 55 yards in two games. the two guys he covered combined for 250 yards in the two games not covered by #24 plus a few TDs

The top 12 right now are making 9k or more.  I don't see us paying any more than 8k because of the money we have tied up in Cam and Luke.  Right now 18 DB are getting paid 8k or more.  Better get it done now or I don't think it happens next off season.
