Week 4 Power Rankings

Arroz con Panther

Recommended Posts

Didn't see a thread started, so I figured I would post what I've seen.  Looks like we're starting to get some recognition at least.

Yahoo:

11. Carolina Panthers (3-0, LW: 19)

It has been pointed out repeatedly that the Panthers have probably the worst crew of receivers in the NFL. So shouldn't we be giving Cam Newton some credit right about now?

NFL.com:

RANK 10

3-0 PANTHERS

Gut-check win for the Panthers, who looked like a group that didn't respect the other team's quarterback early on -- it became apparent, though, that Luke McCown came to play (as noted below). In other news, Cam Newton continues to succeed without much help on his side of the ball. If Carolina takes care of business in Tampa this week, Ron Rivera's club will be undefeated with a chance to get healthier during a Week 5 bye.

Cam Newton has accounted for all seven of the Panthers' offensive touchdowns this season, passing for five scores and rushing for two.

Cam Newton may not be old enough to get any calls, but 33-year-old Jared Allen has earned as many holding flags as he wants.

PFF:

10. Carolina Panthers

Only two cornerbacks have been targeted 20 or more times and have yet to allow a pass for more than 16 yards. Those two are Josh Norman and Bene Benwikere.

CBS Sports:

Squeaking by against the awesome foes we have faced so far, gives me far less reason to want to crow about rankings.  As a Panther fan, I am certainly glad we are 3-0.  As a football fan, I could just as easily see us finishing .500.  Several areas of concern, but I guess they don't call em Cardiac Cats for nothing.  Oline is pass protecting better and that has given the offense a real boost.  The Dline needs to wake up.  Hoping JA is the alarm clock we have been waiting on.

    • My tailoring green idea was not for him to be the starter but to add some value beyond just a developmental quarterback I think size speed is something Bryce doesn't have he has those and would immediately feel the fourth and one package and possibly red zone and some power packages for us
    • Do you have against Willis I believe you're around when we have the draft with corral and Willis were on the board and me personally I was banging the table for Willis as early as round one but a lot of people thought corral was better but it's amazing with a little coaching and time can do with me I always go with potential and upside versus oh the guy just plays football you know sometimes that's not enough
    • I know or needs and this probably isn't with a lot of people want but if he's available at 19 I don't think you can discount that he would be the best player on the board I think with 43 speed he's as fast as leggette. 63240 something he would stretch the field  Strike fear over the middle of opposing linebackers and also probably cure our long time history of no serviceable tight end since Greg Olsen I think a lot of needs like tackle maybe linebacker could be filled and free agency to the point like they did last year where we fix a lot of this and draft the best player we can on the board.  After his combine and the numbers in the 43-in vertical I'm not sure that he will be available but if he is I bet that he's highly considered what say you
