Titan V Steeler game thread

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said safety Troy Polamalu has a sprained MCL in his knee that could keep the Pro Bowler out for 3-6 weeks.

Polamalu left Thursday's 13-10 defeat of the Titans before halftime. After the game, Tomlin said the diagnosis is preliminary and refused to rule out that the injury could be more serious than an MCL sprain.

I can't believe Chuck Cecil (Titans DC) called the dogs off late in the game and in OT. Nothing about his profile as a player would lead you to think he'd play a soft, bend-don't-break style of D, especially with the game on the line.

When the Titans gave him the DC job instead of Dave McGinniss, I thought it was a mistake. In the first half, he was making it look like a good decision. By game's end though, ugh :sosp:

Be honest, Mr. Scot. Do you think the prevent defense in these situations results in more losses than wins over time or is it a product of the opposing offense going into a 2-minute drill? It just seems so bizarre that, based on what I've seen over many years, going to a prevent defense tends to be more the standard than the exception.

There's a saying that what the prevent defense actually prevents is winning.
